"She Gave Her Time to Others"
East Cleveland has lost a wonderful citizen, Edna Morris, who, for over 40 years, lived at 15349 Plymouth Place .
She dedicated her life to the people she loved and she loved all people.
She breathed life into a baby that a doctor had said could not live.
SHE GAVE HER blood to a boy dying of leukemia.
She regularly visited a blind man, whose wife was an invalid. She saw to it that he had a cigarette and a kind word. She did housework to earn money to buy them groceries.
Little old ladies overburdened with house cleaning, ironing and other chores could count on her help.
No one died on the street that she did not see that the family had food.
She worked on fund-raising drives, too numerous to list here, and collected money for flowers for the bereaved.
She took care of a grandson who lost his speech, a nephew with a heart defect and a sister-in-law confined to a wheel chair.
She did all this while raising six children of her own.
SHE FOUND TIME to sew school middies for other children in East Cleveland.
It was a crushing blow to her when she lost a leg; she dearly loved to skate. But, not wanting to be a burden on society, she surprised doctors, family and friends by getting "back on her feet" much faster than expected.
She knew what it was like to be confined to a hospital and she sent get-well cards to people she hardly knew. She took birthday cakes to those she knew would not be remembered by their families.
Where could you find a finer person?
If there were more people like her, the world wouldn't be in the turmoil it is in now.
