North Carolina

A FEW FACTS

North Carolina was the 12th state to be admitted in the union on November 11, 1789. According to the 2000 census North Carolina ranked 11th in population with approximately 8,050,000 people. The largest county by population is Mecklenburg with 642,400 people and the largest county by area is Sampson with 963 square miles.

Geographically, the state is divided into three areas. The Western region; the central region, known as the 'Piedmont'; and the Eastern region. All the regions share a common bond of course; however, topographically speaking, they couldn't be more different. To me, this is what makes North Carolina such a great place to live is that it's so versatile and has something to offer everyone.

Because North Carolina is so versatile and there are so many things to see and do I've divided the attraction's section of this site into the three different regions.
