This is the area where I grew up and still reside.
The western region of North Carolina has some of the most picturesque sites in the world. You haven't lived until you've taken a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall of the year. The scenery is breath takingly beautiful. There is no other place like it and I think once you've seen it you'll have to agree with me.
Most folks up North think that the entire South is very warm. Not the case here! It can get very cold here the mountains. After all, this part of North Carolina is home to Mount Mitchell, which has the highest elevation in the U. S. east of the Mississippi River. So we're no stranger to the snow and cold weather.
So come on along! It's "show time" in the mountains of Western North Carolina!
