Epilogue

"Do you, Jennifer, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, now and forever, in good time and bad, till death do you part?"
"I do," I said softly, with tears glistening in my eyes.
The ceremony went on. I gazed into the bright blue eyes and were lovingly looking back at me.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the minster said, "You may kiss the bride."
My new husband's lips came towards mine and I heard Brian whisper, "He said one kiss, not make out time."
I smiled as Nick kissed me.
Okay, that ruined the surprise. Nick and I eventually did get married. The Carters didn't make it back to Hawaii that summer and Nick wasn't able to make my graduation ceremony either. I thought it was all over between us when, one day the following year, on my 19th birthday, Nick showed up at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, where I was attending college. As I walked out of my Japanese class one morning, I saw Nick standing there with a bouquet of roses. He said that he had something special planned for my birthday and that I was to skip the rest of my classes for the day. I laughed at him and told him that I didn't have anymore classes that day anyway. Nick took me to the park and we had a wonderful picnic under a big tree. After we were done eating, Nick and I went for a walk. It was under a canopy covering one of the small bridges that Nick proposed. The following year, on April 21, we were married in Orlando, Florida, with all of our family and friends around us.
I'll never forget what Nick said to me at our wedding ceremony before he sang an original song that he had composed for me. "Jennifer, if there's one thing I've learned over the last few years. it's been that every new year brings new possiblities, along with new friends, and new love. I want to spend every one of those new years with you."

The End

So how did you like my story? I know it took a long time to complete, but I think it turned out pretty good. It was worth the time. Please E-mail me with comments, good or bad, or leave them for me in my guestbook. Thanks!
