Chapter 12

That night, when Mark had dropped her off at the house, Natasha kissed him goodnight, and sneaked into the house. Just when she thought she was in the clear, the hall light turned on, and there stood her mother. Natasha groaned.

I'm in deep crap now, she thought.

"Where were you, Alyssa?" Mrs. Parker asked calmly, but she looked very mad. "I thought I told you you were grounded."

"Well, uh, you see...I went to study over a friend's house..." Natasha started.

"Don't you dare lie to me! I saw you get out that boy's car! Or were you studying at a boy's house? Answer me!" Mrs. Parker screamed. Natasha shrunk back, scared almost. She'd never seen Mrs. Parker act this way.

"It was my friend's brother. He dropped me off because it was late. Honestly, I was studying!" Natasha cried, hoping that Mrs. Parker would buy the lie.

"Oh, really? Well, I distinctly remember telling you that you weren't allowed to go anywhere!" Mrs. Parker said, her fists balled.

"Uh...I'm sorry, Mrs.- I mean, Mom, it won't happen again, I promise!" Natasha said, running into her bedroom and locking the door behind her, her heart pounding.

"Man, I'm gonna have to get out of this fast, or I won't be able to enjoy my time out with Mark..." Natasha sighed. "He's soooo hot!" She jumped on her bed, and without changing for bed, fell asleep, dreaming of Mark.

"Tash, you're so beautiful," Nick whispered against Alyssa's mouth, his hands roaming her body. She knew she ached for his touch and didn't want to be without it. Nick was the greatest and sweetest guy she'd ever met. They continued to kiss. They were lying back on the couch, Nick on top of Alyssa, her arms around his neck, urging him closer.

"Nick..." Alyssa moaned when Nick's mouth found her neck. He was gently sucking on it, making her feel deliciously high.

They were deeply making out, when someone knocked on the door. They sprung apart. Maybe it was some pesky reporter.

"Hide, Nick! I'm my room!" Alyssa whispered loudly, pointing the way towards the bedrooms. "The first one on the left," she whispered. Nick nodded, and walked towards the bedroom. Alyssa smoothed down her hair and clothes, and walked over to the door, flinging it open. She had no clue who this was, but apparently this person knew her. Or rather, Natasha.

"Natasha, darling! How've you been?" a woman asked her, giving her a hug. Alyssa pasted a smile on her face.

"I've been better. I think I'm coming down with the flu." Alyssa coughed harshly for emphasis. Maybe that would scare the woman away. It worked.

"Well, uh, darling, you know how I hate to get sick and all. I just haven't seen you in a long time, and wanted to see for myself how've you been. I'd better let you get some rest, all right? I'll be in touch," the lady said, kissing Alyssa on the cheek before turning and walking away. Alyssa closed the door, and put her head against it, sighing with relief. Nick came out of the bedroom.

"Who was it, Tash?" he inquired.

"Oh, an old friend. I told her I was sick, so she left," Alyssa said. Nick approached her and put his arms around her waist loosely.

"So. I think I should leave. It's getting pretty late, and I don't want your assistant to find us here, okay?" Nick said.

"Okay, Nick. Call me tomorrow?" Alyssa asked.

"Of course, Tash." Nick bent down and kissed Alyssa fully and thoroughly on the lips.

"I'll talk to you tomorrow, okay? Goodnight," Nick whispered. He let go of her, and opened the door.

"Goodnight, Nick."

When Nick was gone, Alyssa sighed. She was so happy to be with Nick. She didn't know what she was going to do when she lost him for good.
