Chapter 14

The next morning, Natasha slowly opened her eyes. Sunlight was streaming through the window. She stretched, then looked at the clock on the nightstand. It read 7:05. She had plenty of time.

She stood up, grabbed her towel, and walked out into the hall, going into the bathroom, and locking the door behind her. She quickly stripped off all her clothes and dumped them in the hamper. She grabbed her toothbrush, put some toothpaste on it, and went into the tub, turning on the water full blast.

"My perfect and normal life as Alyssa is running out. Ugh, I wish there was a way for us to stay switched longer, but I don't know if she'll agree. It's worth a try. She's probably bored to death, and can't wait to get back to her regular life," Natasha said to herself, while she scrubbed herself. "I'll ask her anyway. Maybe she'll be totally for the idea. If that happens, I'll be the happiest girl in the world...if only I could stay with Mark forever..." Natasha said, trailing off. There was a knock on the bathroom door.

"Alyssa, please hurry up! We're all waiting for you to get out of the bathroom. We're going to be late!" Mrs. Parker said. Natasha sighed, and rolled her eyes. With the good, there had to be at least a little bad. And this was the bad part about being Alyssa Parker. She had such boring and prim parents.

"I don't know how she can stand the people," Natasha muttered, turning of the water, and grabbing the plush white towel that was draped over the back of the door. She quickly dried herself off, and put the towel around her damp body. She exited the bathroom, and went into her room, locking the door behind her. She looked at the clock. It was 7:45. She hadn't realized she had spent so much time in the shower. Mark was going to pick her up at 8:15. She quickly dressed, and brushed her hair, then carefully applied her makeup.

She grabbed her bookbag, and when she was almost down the stairs, Mrs. Parker called her.

"Alyssa Parker, get right back up here!" she said. Alyssa sighed, then slowly climbed the stairs again. She went into the bathroom.

"What is it, Mother," Natasha said, bored.

"I thought I told you not to leave this mess of water all over the floor. You will go downstairs right now, get something to dry this right now! How many times do I have to tell you things before they stick in your head? You used to be such a clean and nice girl, and now you've turned into the devil himself. What's wrong with you? Ugh! Don't even answer that! Just get this cleaned up." With that, Mrs. Parker exited the bathroom, and slammed the door to her bedroom shut. Natasha sighed. She wasn't about to go downstairs then come back up again. She grabbed the towel that was on the hamper and threw it on the floor, moving it around the dry the water with her feet. When she was done, she picked up the dirty towel, and threw it in the hamper. She stamped out of the bathroom and down the steps.

Just then, she heard Mark beep the horn.

"Shiiit! Now I won't be able to eat! And I'm so hungry, too. I didn't eat yesterday," Natasha said. "If it wasn't for-"

"Young lady, did I just hear you curse? Come here, right now!" Mr. Parker said from the next room. Natasha quietly exited the house. She was not about to get another lecture from the Perfect Parents. She ran down the steps, and into Mark's car.

"Hey, sweetie. What's wrong, you look upset," Mark noted after he had kissed her.

"Drive. I wanna get as far away from here as possible," Natasha muttered, crossing her arms over her chest.

"What happened?" Mark inquired.

"Another lecture from my mother, and was about to get one from my father, too. I just left. I'm sooo sick and tired of them," Natasha responded, irritated.

"I'm so sorry, baby. You wanna blow school and go to the beach? It'll make you feel better. It's calm," Mark suggested.

"Nah, Mark, I have two major tests today. You know that the makeup tests are harder. Why don't you take me after school?" Natasha said, leaning her head back against the seat.

"Okay, Aly. Will your parents get mad?" he asked.

"Who gives a shit," Natasha muttered. Mark laughed.

"I just don't want you to get into trouble," he replied.

"Don't worry about it, Mark. I can handle the Perfect Parents," she replied.

"That's what you call them?" Mark said, starting to laugh again.

"That's what they are." Natasha digged in her bookbag for her compact. She found it, opened it, and checked her makeup. Nothing was out of place. She closed it and put it back in her bookbag. She couldn't wait until school was over so she could be with Mark. She wanted nothing but to get away from those people and have a fun time with Mark.

Alyssa yawned. She had just returned from the photo shoot that she had at 6 and had just ended half an hour ago, at 8. She decided to go back to sleep. She was extremely tired. She quickly changed into a pair of shorts, and a tank, then went under her covers, the delicious feeling of sleep invading her body. Within minutes, she was asleep.
