Chapter 2

"So, how does it feel to be married at the ripe old age of 20?" teased Kevin, over the dinner table. They had all liked the spaghetti, which was a big relief for Jenna, since she wasn't much of a cook.

"Oh, come of it, Kev, you're just jealous 'cause you're 28, and you're not married yet...but you're getting there with Kristin. Have you set a wedding date yet?" Jenna asked, taking a sip of Coke. Kevin shook his head.

"No, not yet. But we're working on it," Kevin said defensively. He really hoped that Kristin was the one for him. He really did love her a lot.

Brian looked at Jenna. He couldn't help but be jealous that Nick had gotten Jenna instead of him. He had fallen in love with her first, but had kept quiet. And look where it got him. Now nothing could every happen between them, because she was now married to his best friend. What luck,he scoffed.

Jenna caught Brian staring at her. She blushed. She couldn't help but feel a little attracted to Brian. After all he was smart, funny, sweet, and good-looking.

After dinner, when everyone but Brian had left, Jenna, Nick, and Brian went into the living room to watch a movie. A little while later, Nick yawned, and stood up.

"Baby, I'm gonna head up to bed now. I'm dead tired. Bri, if you wanna crash here tonight, you can. You guys can finish the movie. G'night," he said, leaning down and kissing Jenna on the mouth lightly.

"Night, Nick," Jenna whispered. Brian echoed what Jenna had said, and soon thereafter, Brian and Jenna were alone in the living room. They watched the movie in silence for a while before Brian broke the silence.

"Jenna?" he spoke up. Jenna turned her head in his direction.

"Yeah, Bri, what's up?" she asked, turning herself so she could face him. She was totally completely shocked when Brian leaned in and kissed her. She sat frozen for a while, before she responded, and scooted closer to Brian, and put her arms around his shoulders, bringing him closer to her body. They started to kiss intensely, not thinking about what they were doing or what the consequences for their actions was going to be. Brian nudged Jenna so that she lay down on the sofa, he on top of her, running his hands all over her.

Suddenly, Jenna shot up, and pushed Brian away. Brian got embarrassed so quick, he turned many different shades of red. He didn't know what had gone through him.

"I'm so sorry, Jenna. I didn't mean it. I gotta go. I gotta go," he repeated. He stood up, and walked out of the house. Jenna heard the car start a minute later, and him roaring away.

"Oh, God, what have I done? I can't believe I actually enjoyed it. What have I done?" she whispered to herself, before falling back on the sofa. She felt too guilty to go and sleep by Nick's side after what had happened. It was just wrong. "Hypocrytical," she whispered, before she drifted off into sleep.
