James' Breastfeeding Story
Hello, my name is Jillian and I am presently nursing my 3.7 year old son
James. I can't begin to tell you how fast the time has flown. I remember when
James was one year olf age, and I was certain that I wouldn't be nursing when
he reached the age of eighteen months. Well, as you can see, I was very wrong.
I can't begin to tell you how much it has meant to myself and James to have
continued our nursing relationship. I find nursing a child who is in the
advanced stages of toddlerhood, to be so much easier and enjoyable then at the
younger ages. One can carry on a conversation, know when something is wrong,
be assured that he/she is receiving enough milk, plus there is nothing so
useful in calming, comforting, and reassuring an older child, then nursing. I
believe the average world age for nursing is between 2 years to 7 years. It
would not bother me in the least if James decided to nurse until the age of 7.
As long as he feels the need, I'll be here for him.
