Rachel's Story.

Natural Weaning Story.

Bethany has decided that she would rather have food than my milk, so, feeling rather sad I have decided to let it end at what must be it's natural conclusion.

The last few weeks I have tried to feed her before bedtime and the reaction has varied from laughing at me to plain indifference. I spoke to my health visitor and she said that it is fine for her to stop as she eats such a good diet that she doesn't need the nutritional qualities of breastmilk anymore.

It is very sad though. I can't believe that Bethany is now 9 months old and crawling around our flat, I am getting quite 'broody' when I see little babies but I am going to wait a while before we have another! By breastfeeding I really feel that I can have some pride in my healthy, strong little girl. I did that!!!!!

I am so thankful to my hospital for encouraging me to breastfeed, without their support I probably would never have started and never experienced this wonderful, natural way to nurture my baby. If you are reading this and are pregnant and deciding whether to feed or a new mum thinking about giving up I beg you to persevere. This has been the most fulfilling time in my life
