The 24th Month Happy Birthday Jodie Grace!!!!! Yes, that's right. My sweet baby girl is now two years old....terribly two as I call it. :) She is strong willed, persistent, obstinate and has a high pitched, ear piercing scream that send our cat, Ginger, running for cover or her sisters exclaiming, "I didn't do it!" when she can't have her way...and that is on her good days! :) She is definitely a toddler and her mother's daughter...where did you think she got that stubborn streak from? As trying as her headstrong personality can be she can easily bend me with three words. "Some mommy milk." Yes, Jodie is now a breastfeeding two year old and mom is now entering a new frontier. I breastfed her three older sisters for at least the first year but no more than fourteen months. So what is it like to breastfeed a walking, talking, running, singing, dancing, bike-riding, swinging child? I can honestly say that it is an enjoyable thing. It is so nice to start our day snuggled together or take a break in our busy day before nap or settle in my big oak rocker before we say good night. It is these times when my dirty faced little whirling dervish is quiet and still in my arms. There have been a couple days this past month where she didn't want to nurse at all. She would get down right angry if I even offered. One time she asked, "Mommy sad?" I told her as I hugged her, "Yes, a little. But that's okay." The next morning though she climbed up into my lap while I was working on the computer and gave me that sweet smile as she asked, "Some mommy milk?" How long will we continue. Right now I can't say but for now it is right for her and that is all that matters. See you next month! Happily nursing,
