The 25th Month
She is asserting her independence and will in virtually aspect of her life, including in our breastfeeding relationship. She still nurses on average three to four times a day but there have been a couple of days this past month where she will not ask for mommy milk at all until bedtime. She also, for the first time, has developed a preference for one side. "Not dat side, Mommy!! Dis side!", is what she will tell me. A pox descended upon our household this month...the chicken pox that is. Jodie did get it, although not nearly as bad as her older sister, Abigael. I was thankful that we were still breastfeeding as it became her comfort when she was itchy or uncomfortable from the pox lesions. I am also thankful that she didn't break out until a week after her birthday. She may be my independent little miss but it is nice to know that there are still times for her where only mommy milk will do . Until next month. Happily nursing,
