The 27th Month

Laura & Jodie's Journal

August 1998

Jodie is now 27 months old and yes, happily nursing. She has pretty much dropped her early morning feeding and sleeps in. I have to say that it is nice to sleep in!

Her eating habits are becoming typical of your average two-year old. Three meals that she either picks over or inhales along with snacks throughout the day. She still is very specific when she asks for a beverage. It is either mommy milk, coklit (chocolate) milk or strawberry-pink milk. With the extreme heat we have offered lots of water or juice as well throughout the day as she plays. It is funny how busy she gets in her play that she doesn't even realize just how thirsty she is until she drinks all of mommy's water from her water bottle!

Her mommy milk sessions are now right before her afternoon nap and at bedtime. Sometimes she nurses quickly and efficiently and sometimes she takes her time, stroking my hair, making eye contact and occasionally trying to converse while at the breast. It is then that I gently remind her what she is doing.

Until next month,

Happily nursing,

Jodie and Laura †
