Berneda & Ethan Ethan is 10 months now. It's so hard to believe. He has progressed so much this past month. He now is walking around furniture. He keeps trying to walk without holding on, but he's not quite ready for that. He always falls after a couple of seconds. I love watching him grow & learn new things. It has to be the greatest thing in the world, besides nursing him, of course. He still nurses every 2 hours, except at night. He sleeps from about 11 to 7. My husband got promoted to supervisor, so he no longer works nights. Yeah!!!!!!!!!! Also, I finished up with this semester of school. So, I am home all day, everyday to nurse my wonderful son. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!! I missed him so much while I was at school. I know I have to go back in August, but I'm savoring these few uninterrupted months we have together. Ethan got 3 more teeth in, but I'm not having anymore problems with him biting. Once in a great while, he'll nibble a little, but I just have to tell him, "no" & he stops. It's so cute to look at him now & practically see a full mouth of teeth (3 on top & 2 on bottom). He now eats 8 tablespoons of cereal (last month he was eating 6 tablespoons). We have also added a jar of vegetables at noon & a half jar of meat at supper. So, he gets a total of 4 jars of baby food a day. He has also been tasting table food. Last month, he wasn't quite ready for it. He would take a bite & throw it up, but we have been putting it on his tray & letting him play with it for the past month. Then he decided that it was time to get down to business. The first food he was able to keep down was chicken. Now, he has tried ravioli, spaghetti, broccoli, tapioca pudding, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots, & green beans. The only ones he doesn't like is mashed potatoes & spaghetti. He has never liked mashed potatoes. Even the kind in the baby food jar. He doesn't get very much table food. Just a couple bites a day. We're just giving him the opportunity to taste them. I have came across this wonderful breastfeeding forum on the internet. It is such an excellent support to a lot of breastfeeding mothers! Check it out at Parents Soup www.parentsoup.com/americanbaby We're starting to plan Ethan's one year birthday party. I am going to make him a carrot cake & I'm going to put my pumped breastmilk in it. I joked with my husband. I told him I was going to put breastmilk in the cake that I make for the guests. (Maybe I should. HA!! HA!!) In a way, I'm excited for him to turn a year old, but then again, I don't want him to grow up. I want him to stay Mommy's little Ethan forever. I know that's not possible, but it is possible for me to cherish these days forever & I will. Berneda & Ethan Go back to the Breastfeeding page.
