"Mom! You won't believe..." Ali came in excited, but then saw a bouquet of roses. One of each color they came in, "Where'd these come from?" Ali asked to silence. She looked at the card, "Alison," it said on the white envelope. She put her bony fingers underneath the freshly sealed envelope..."Who would have sent me these?" she pondered. She snapped out of it and realized that if she opened the card she'd find out. Ali tore it open excited.
"Dear Ali, I couldn't stop thinking about you all day. I know I just met you this morning, but I want you to be my girlfriend...I can't have anybody else eyeing my girl. So what do ya say? Love Always, Andy."
Ali squealed to herself and dropped the card. She was reaching to smell the flowers when the annoying sound of the phone ringing interrupted.
"Hello?"
"Ali! I'm so glad you're home! I have to talk to you!" Nick's voice burst through the receiver.
"Oh, same here! The hottest guy in school wants me to be his girlfriend! He is so unbelievably gorgeous. Can you believe it?" she squealed excited.
Nick sighed. He knew the truth behind it. Everything was a set up,
"Nick...cat caught your tongue or something?" He ran his hand through his hair.
"No, but Ali, I have some bad news..."
"What...didn't the deal workout?"
"No, its that guy Andy. He's going to do something. I don't know what, but he wants to hurt you."
"I can't believe this..."
"I know."
"No, I can't believe your jealousy could get so intense you have to make up a stupid lie like that."
"Grow up and call me back!" she slammed the p hone down, "I can't believe he would try something like that! Why would he do that?" she asked to nobody. She took her hair down from her messy bun and shook it out. Ali looked across the room into a mirror, "I'm Ali. No, I'm Alison," she said dramatically," I have Andy for my loving boyfriend. I'm confident, cool, and beautiful," she told herself. She smiled and nodded excited.
"Why wouldn't she believe me? I'm her bestfriend for crying out loud!" Nick shouted frustrated.
"Nicky? What's wrong?" his mother walked in his hotel room.
"This guy asked Ali out and he wants to destroy her," he hid his face in his hands.
"Nicky, Ali has good judgment. You think you might just be a little jealous? I mean Ali and you have never really made new friends other than each other and you might just feel left out because she's moving on without you," she sat on the bed by him and patted his back.
"No mom, that's not it," his eyes teared up, "Why would you even say she's moving on without me? We're bestfriend mom. We will never move on without one another," he sniffed and wiped his eyes.
"You two are growing apart, that's all."
"No!" he shot up and yelled, "We are not growing apart! Mom, I want to go home. Now! I have to make sure she's okay."
"We're going back tomorrow, but you know you signed that contract. You are to be in Europe on Saturday."
"Fine," he sighed.
