Chapter Three

"You didn't let me finish...AND I've been on a mission to save you from me," she slowly put the gun down, "I'm an undercover agent and my friends have it out for you. You were the reason one of them didn't make the BSB, and his best friend is just against pop music. I"m really against their whole plan."

"Then why are you involved?"

"I got into some trouble and they bailed me out. I know I will not hurt you, but they might. My boss knows what they are up to, but doesn't know I'm in on it too and told me to protect you without you knowing so you wouldn't get scared, but then you heard my watch go off and it was getting dangerous so I"m telling you now. Do not leave your hotel room unless I let you or your bandmates are with you," she explained sternly.

"Whoa, okay, will the penny really work?"

"Yes."

"So...Allllliiiiii....is it only your job that's keeping you from killing me or do you have a big crush on me or something?" he asked raising an eyebrow.

"Funny, I was just about to ask you that," she shot back.

"I don't have a job to protect you," he replied confused. She pushed him on the bed, layed beside him and kissed him. She pulled away quickly, "I meant the crush question, and to answer yours," she kissed him again deeply, "No," she got up and headed for the door.

"Hey, that wasn't nice," Nick sat up.

"Just letting you know where I stand. I'll keep in touch," she walked out.

"Man," Nick sighed flopping down on the bed.

"So how's Star?" Brian asked as the guys were on a break from a dance rehearsal.

"Her real name's Alison, but she told me to call her Ali. And well, she's certainly different form any other girl I've met," he grinned to himself.

"So you going to date her?" AJ asked remembering her appearance.

"Not sure yet. She already told me she doesn't like me like that, but that just makes me want to try harder, but for right now, no," he reasoned.

"What's her number again?" AJ asked peering over his sunglasses.

"Not sure."

"Last name?"

"Don't know."

"Age?"

"No clue," he shrugged.

"Smart thinking, going after a girl you don't know," Howie patted his shoulder.

"Anyway," Fatima butted in, "Off girls, back to dance."

They practiced for a while until Nick heard a beeping going off.

"Oh man, guys, you do not know who or where I am, okay?" Nick yelled grabbed his bag and ran out. He ran to a local church. At least God would have been with him if they found him.

"This is it, we're getting him right now," Steve told Ali and Neil.

"Lets go," Neil said determined. They intruded into the building. Neil barged though the door leading to the dance studio with Steve following and Ali in back.

"Excuse us," Ali turn the music off, "Where is the blonde one?!" she demanded.

"Hey, you're Ali, you're..." AJ stuttered.

"SHUTUP! You don't know who I am. Now tell me where the blonde one is!" she yelled, but then winked at all the guys.

"We don't know who you're talking about," Howie played along.

"He's not here guys," Ali told Neil and Steve.

"We'll check the rest of this place out, Al, stay here," Neil told her as him and Steve checked around. As soon as they were out of earshot Ali softened up.

"Guys, don't ask any questions, I'll meet with you guys for dinner tonight to explain. Now tell me the truth, where is Nick?" she asked all of them quietly.

"Not sure, he heard a beeping noise and got out of here quick," Brian shrugged.

"Did he take the beeping thing with him?"

"Yes." Ali turned her watch on and played with different functions.

"He's in the church down the street, he's safe there. I'll send him back to you guys when its safe. Don't worry, I'm on your side."

"Al! He's not here! We missed him again! C'mon!"

"Don't worry," she mouthed to the guys and left.

**********************

Ali walked into the church. Nick was in a pew praying. She slowly tapped him on the shoulder. He snapped in her direction quickly.

"Thank you God," he whispered looking up.

"Its safe now, you can go back to the hotel," she said as he hugged her tight.

"How did you know I was here?" he asked still hugging her.

"That penny tracks where you are, my watch can tell me where you are at every moment," she explained.

"I was so scared. It didn't hit me until the penny went off. When will this be over?" he asked scared.

"Soon, don't worry. You're in my hands. I haven't lost one client and I wont' do it now," she smiled assuringly up at him.

"Thank you so much," he pulled her into his arms again.
