(8 months later...)
Nick stood backstage with Brian and Aaron. "Nick you were screaming again last night." Aaron said.
Nick rolled his eyes. "I don't understand it guys. Why is she still haunting me.". He adjusted his tie.
"Not sure Nick. But we have to go on. Like now." Brian laughed.
Nick gave him a funny look and quickly kissed his girlfriend Heather. Heather knew about the dreams. About the vampires. She knew about everything. Heather smiled and watched as they sang her favorite song. She looked beyond Nick. She seen a woman.
Fangs bearing, ringlet blonde curls. And a long lavender dress.
Scarlet smiled at Nick's girlfriend. She had wanted to see Nick so badly. She has been watching him. In his dreams. And sometimes visiting his life. She had to see him one last time , just in case it didn't work.
She smiled sadly and clicked her fingers. Heather fainted to the floor. She felt bad for doing it , but it was her only chance.
Nick turned to see the hint of a lavender dress. But when he blinked it was gone. He hadn't realized that he had stopped singing. Everything felt in slow motion. He looked towards Heather. She was lying on the floor. He began to run to her , but it seemed as if he wasn't running fast enough. When he got to her side he laid his ear on her chest and listened as her heart stopped. He sadly lifted his head. He knew no one could help her. This was the work of Scarlet.
Three days later Nick watched as Heather was lowered into the earth. He watched his second girlfriend die by the hands of Scarlet.
Later that night Nick sat in his living room with AJ. "Bone, I just don't understand it... she is suppose to be gone." he whispered.
AJ patted his knee. "I don't know what to tell you buddy." AJ sighed.
"I'm going to bed. Its late."
AJ gave Nick a high five and walked up the stairs to the guest room. Nick just leaned back on the couch and closed his eyes. He was asleep a few moments later.
Dream...
Nick walked along the beach. The waves were crashing against the sand. He could see along the horizon dolphins jumping. He smiled. The beach was so peaceful. Suddenly everything was still. The oracle words flashed in his mind.
'You shall be her destroyer. You shall take her into mortality.'. He saw a flash of light and a woman fall to the ground.
Nick sat up sweating. "Leave me alone" he whispered.
His phone began to ring, he looked at the clock, it was only 3:45 am. He groaned. "Hello?".
No one answered. "Hello?" he asked again. Still there was no answer. Slowly he hung up the phone.
He tried to fall back asleep. But the silence was eating away at him. Nick searched for his light. When he click it on, he was surprised to see it was very dim. In the shadows over in the left side of his room, was Scarlet.
"Scarlet..." he whispered slowly standing up.
"Yes Nickolas." she walked towards him, but only where the light was the darkest.
"I cannot stay long , there is something I must do.". She looked deep into his eyes.
"What, do you have to do? Will I ever see you again?". He touched her but jerked back, her skin was so cold.
"What I have to do is not important. But you will see me again. I promise. Listen for the name of the sapphires.". She pulled him down and placed her freezing dead lips on his cheek. "Sleep now." she brushed her fingers over his eyes, and everything was black.
