I was in a deep sleep until I felt someone pull my head up by my hair.
"Bitch! Wakeup!" I heard someone yell.
"What?" I asked scared. I knew it was Nick, but why
would he act like
this?
"Nothing," he shrugged and slapped me. He pulled me
up by my shirt up to his face. I could smell the liquor on his
breath.
"Why're you doing this?" I whimpered.
"You were bad," he said evilly punching my eye. He picked
me up and
threw me into the wall. He hit me a few more times before I ran
out of there.
"Brian!" I yelled panicked and knocking, "BRI!
HELP!"
"Al? What happened?" he asked scratching his head. I
saw Nick come out of my room.
"Let me in," I said panicked and pushing by him. I shut
the door, but I was so scared it actually slammed.
"You're bleeding," he said sitting by me down on his
unmade bed.
"It's nothing, I just," I stuttered, "Can I stay
in here tonight?" I asked scared.
"Yeah, but tell me what happened, please?" he asked.
"Nick was drunk and angry and he came at me while I was sleeping.
He was just drunk, he'll be okay tomorrow," I explained.
"I'm so sorry," Brian said hugging me.
"Ah!" I gasped pulling away, "Just don't tell Nick
about this if he doesn't
remember, promise me," I said looking in his eyes.
"I promise, just don't go back in there without me checking
first," he
replied.
Suddenly there was a loud banging on the door.
"Ali! I know you're in there!" We both heard Nick yell.
I shook a little and pulled my knees up to my chest.
"Don't say anything," Brian whispered.
I nodded as he got up.
"Nick go back to bed. She'll see you in the morning,"
Brian said calmly.
Nick banged his head on the door.
"Fine!" he said still angry.
"Thank you," I whispered as Brian came back over.
"Welcome. Now get in bed, go to sleep," Brian said covering
me up, "I'm
right here when you need me," Brian whispered and kissed
my head. I soon fell asleep.
The next morning I felt weird with Brian next to me.
"Bri," I said shaking him, "I'm gunna go back now."
"Let me check it out," Brian said getting up. I gave
him my room key and
followed behind him. He opened the door to see Nick laying on
the floor.
"Lets get him in bed," I suggested going to see if Nick
was okay. As soon as I touched him he woke up.
"Hey baby," he smiled. I signalled to Brian he could
leave, What happened?
You're all beat up."
"I, um, fell down the stairs," I lied.
"Let me help you with that black eye," Nick said getting
up.
He made an ice pack and rested it on my eye. He gently caressed
my face.
"Maybe I shouldn't go tonight. It wouldn't look good for
the press. I'm
feeling really sore anyway," I made up excuses.
"Oh, honey, please come? You still look beautiful,"
he assured me.
"Fine," I agreed reluctantly.
"Yay!" he said like a little kid and hugging me tight.
"Oh, ow, Nick please don't," I said with my eyes welling
up. Nick lifted the back of my shirt a little staring at the bruises.
"Ali, the stairs didn't do this," Nick said sensing
I was lying.
"Yeah, yes they did. 20 stairs will do that to ya,"
I laughed nervously.
"Why were you with Brian?" he asked.
"He found me unconscious at the ground floor," I lied
again. I must've been a terrible liar. He saw right through me.
"Tell me what happened," he said looking in my eyes.
He seemed so worried, I couldn't lie to him anymore.
"You did it," I mumbled.
Nick had a horrified expression on his face. "I'm sorry," he cried.
"No, I'm lying, you didn't do anything," I said scared
and panicked. I didn't want him to overreact.
"Yes I did," he cried more.
"No, its all makeup! Gotcha good, didn't I?" I laughed
nervously.
"I'm so sorry," he said not being able to look at me
and laying his head in his hands to cover up his tears. He didn't
want me to see him crying, but I
did.
"I'm fine," I smiled pulling his head up and kissing
him, "Come on, I need a
shower. Come with me."
"Okay," he said like a little kid that hates to be wrong.
"Don't worry about this, this is nothing," I said trying
to make him feel
better. We got in the bathroom and I stripped down to my underwear.
Nick was in his boxers. He stood against the wall just staring
at my back. I turned around and kissed him forcefully.
Passion took over Nick's sorrow and he became rough with me. He
pushed
me up against the wall. It hurt a lot, but I didn't want him to
feel bad. Nick put his arms around my back and gently rubbed it
as if he knew I was in pain from the wall. We got into it a little
more and this time, it wasn't a mistake. We had made a bond between
the both of us. It was a lot more sentimental this time and Nick
seemed to enjoy himself more.
We were both sober and remembered and were away of everything
that went on."Don't leave this time," I whispered to
Nick as he put his sweaty
arms around me.
He laughed a little. "I won't," He assured me with his
ever so famous half smile.
"So much for the shower," I giggled and kissed his cheek.
