Chapter 2

I sat with Tiffany at lunch.

"Where'd you go this morning? That was your chance," she said knowing the answer.

"I had to get some homework done," I lied.

"He's really nice you know," she went on talking, "His name is Nick and he's actually in my health class."

"Yeah, but all his friends hate me. I think I'll just go look for someone else," I said as the bell rang.

"Seeya later," she said as we parted.

I didn't see Nick at his locker so I left for my car. I started to pull out when I saw Nick and he stopped me.

"Ali, right?" he checked.

"Oh, yeah," I said making sure he was talking to me.

"Hey, I"'m Nick. I was wondering, do you have Tiffany's number?" he asked.

"Yeah," I said fumbling thought my bookbag. I pulled out paper and a pen and wrote her number down. I handed it to him.

"Thanks. Nice car," he said commenting on my new silver firebird convertible.

"Oh, um thanks," I smiled.

"Okay, well thanks again, I"ll seeya," he smiled back. I waved and drove off. Normally, I would've been mad he asked for a friend's number, but Tiff swore she was in love with Dave.

I went to work and Tiff showed up in an hour.

"I found out more about lover-boy," she said excited.

"Which is?" I asked.

"He's a senior. Lily dumped him because she thought he was cheating on her, but he wasn't. He loves football and basketball and he wants to know if we wanna go out mini-golfing Friday night," she explained.

"I have to work," I said disappointed.

"Well, I told him to ask you himself so maybe you'll find a way," she replied. Tiff soon left and my shift ended.

I went to school the next morning nervous. Was he really going to talk to me?
