We all hopped in the car and went to work.
"You guys wanna watch a movie?" I asked them as we took
the elevator up to my office.
"Yeah!" they cheered. Normally, they just ready children's
books all day.
"Well, last night I had a TV and VCR installed in my office
so you guys
could watch some," I told them. We went in. I popped in a
movie and went to my desk.
"Al, delivery," Stacey my new assistant came in.
"Oh, thank you," I said taking the flowers and box from
her.
"I bet that's from Nick," Turn smiled.
"And why would you think that?" I asked him slyly.
"I dunno," he said bashfully. I opened the card it read:
Ali, I've missed you so much. A good friend of mine finally told
me the right thing to do. Please be mine again. I love you -Nick
PS: CALL MY CELL PHONE!
"How does he do it?" I mumbled to myself. I opened the box. It was my old ring that he'd given me. There were also two new necklaces that had Turn and Kat inscripted on a cross pendent. I gave the necklaces to the kids and they helped each other put them on.
"He didn't get anything for Roadie!" Kat squeal and
picked her up.
"Well, I'll call him and you can yell," I smiled to
her. She nodded.
I picked up the phone and dialed his cell phone. I was amazed
I still had
his number memorized.
"Nick's phone, he's currently on the John," I heard
AJ answer.
"Hey AJ, could you just put him on when he's done?"
I laughed.
"Ali?" he asked shocked.
"Yeah," I replied.
"Go Turn!" he yelled," Guys! Its AL!!!!" AJ
yelled to the other guys on the bus.
"YES!" I heard all of them cheer, "Thank you lord!"
"Nick is done peeing now, here he is," AJ grinned.
"Asshole!" Nick yelled, "Hey Al," he said
casually.
"Hi, I just wanted to say thanks and that you didn't have
to send this stuff," I told him.
"Well, your very welcome as long as you'll be mine again,"
he said hopeful.
"Okay," I agreed, "But you have to know all my
time can't be spent with
you only," I explained. Kat tugged on my skirt, "Kat
wants to talk to you," I said handing her the phone.
"Hey Nick, I like the necklace, but you didn't get Roadie
anything," she
scolded.
"Well, tell Roadie I'm very sorry and I won't forget next
time," he laughed.
Kat handed the phone back to me.
"So, when do you get back?" I asked.
"A month, but we have a week off and I"m coming back.
So I'll see you on
Monday," he explained.
"Who said I wanted to see you?" I asked sarcastically.
"Ali!" Turn called to me.
"Yeah?"
"Let me talk to him," he begged. I handed him the phone,
"Did I do a good
thing Nick?"
"Yes you did," Nick replied certain.
"So Ali wouldn't yell at me if I told her?" he asked.
"I don't think so," Nick laughed. Turn gave me the phone
back.
"Ali, I called Nick for you," Turn said happily.
"So, my little boy called you did he?" I asked.
"Yep and its a good thing too. I think the guys were getting
mad at me," he
replied.
"So, you're not scared about me and my kids or anything?"
I asked.
"Nah, they're awesome," he replied.
"Okay, I better get back to work before I get fired,"
I told him.
"You're the boss," he said confused and laughing.
"Yeah, but I got a lot to do. I'm a busy girl!" I replied
knowing I had so much stuff to do it was unbelievable.
"Let me say one more thing," Kat begged. I handed her
the phone.
"Nick, Ali's birthday is next month, you better buy something
good," she
advised.
"I will," he laughed. She handed the phone back to me.
"Okay, well, that covers everyone except Roadie, I'll seeya
Monday," I said about to hang up.
"Okay, bye sweety," he started, "I love you."
"Bye," I said. He hung up, "I love you too,"
I whispered to the phone.
Monday finally came and we went to go pick Nick up at the airport.
"Ali, do these girls know Nick's with us?" Turn asked.
"No, but don't say that too loud," I replied to him.
There were millions of girls around. The girls didn't even notice
Nick when he walked out. He came out in a very good disguise.
"Hey baby," he greeted and kissed me.
"Oooooooooh!!!" both Kat and Turn cooed.
"Boy cooties!" Kat squealed.
"Girl cooties," Turn said disgusted.
"Lets go home," I smiled. I took Turn in my arms. Kat
wanted to stay in
Nick's.
We got out of the airport without anybody recognizing him. We
went back to my house.
"When do we get to meet Uncle AJ, Uncle Howie, and Uncle
Kev?" Kat asked.
"Well, they didn't come home this time, maybe next time,"
Nick replied.
"Ali, can I be a singer like Nick?" Turn asked.
"Well, if you want I can put you in singing lessons and see
where that goes," I offered.
"Actually, I've heard these two sing," Nick started,
"They're good to go."
"They're 3!" I said astonished.
"Hey its always good to start early," he replied, "Brian
and I talked to our manager and he said it would be fine if they
toured with us," Nick replied.
"Could we Ali? Please?" Kat begged.
"Please?" Turn added. I looked at both of them. I wasn't
their mother. I
couldn't say no.
"As long as they get tutored when school is suppose to start
and as long as they're not exhausted to death, its okay with me,"
I replied.
"YAY!" they cheered.
"Good," Nick agreed.
"I can take my work on the road," I figured.
