"Ali?" Nick questioned softly.
"Hunter, we have to go," I picked him up and that basket.
"Ali?" he asked again.
"Yes Nick?" I replied.
"Its nice to see you again," he smiled.
"You two know each other?" Hunter asked.
"Hunt, go look at the lobsters, I'll be over in a minute,"
I ruffled his hair.
"Is he yours?" Nick asked nervous.
"Yeah, this one's have me," I smiled.
"How old is he?" he asked looking at him.
"3," I smiled at how lucky I was to have him, "People
say he looks like me, but he acts like his father."
"So, you're married?" he asked kinda disappointed.
"No, I was engaged to his father, but he wanted someone else.
His dad doesn't even know Hunter is alive," I explained.
"What kind of father doesn't know he has a kid?" Nick
asked almost as a
joke.
"Don't be bad mouthin' his father. He's a really descent
guy and you'd love him," I smiled.
"So, how'd you get his name?" he asked.
"I just liked the name Hunter and well his middle name is
his father's
middle name," I replied.
"Which is," he asked.
"Gene," I said gently. Nick's eyes got a little wider.
He held his hand up to his chest as if a question, "Yeah,
he's yours," I said softly to him.
"We made him?" Nick asked looking him over, "He's
beautiful," he whispered.
"Yeah, he is," I commented, "He's just like you.
He has an amazing voice."
"Ali," he turned around to face me, "I still love
you. And I can't just forget what I did, but I did screw up. I
haven't seen another woman since. My heart belongs to you, nobody
else," he said taking my hand in both of his.
"I don't know Nick, you really hurt me last time. I'm still
recovering," I said looking away.
"Ali," he whispered with his eyes penetrating mine.
"Mommy!" Hunter call em. Me and Nick both looked, "He
looks like Sabastian!" he laughed looking at the lobsters
and making faces at them.
"Sabastian?" Nick asked a little worried.
"The crab from The Little Mermaid," I smiled. Nick pulled
me closer to him. Nick leaned in unsure of himself and kissed
me gently.
"Ali, that's my son over there and I want us to be a normal
family. Marry
me Ali," he said sweetly.
"No," I shook my head.
"Marry me Ali," he repeated.
"No," I whimpered.
"Ali, marry me," he said staring in my eyes. Those eyes
I couldn't refuse
his eyes. I had never stopped loving him, and ever since that
day I regretted walking out on him.
"Okay," I said about to cry. We hugged tightly. I walked
over and picked
up Hunter, "Honey, you know how I told you you're father
was a famous
singer and couldn't be with us?" I asked him.
"Uh huh! That's where I got my talent!" he boasted.
"Hunt, this is your daddy," I smiled as I put him in
Nick's arms.
"I've missed you, well actually I don't remember you, but
if I got to chose a daddy, you'd be it," he smiled.
"Well, I'm definetly glad you're my son," he smiled
and tickled him. I checked my watch.
"Oh my Lord, Hunter its already five, we gotta pick up your
brother and
sister," I told him.
"Actually, could I spend the afternoon with him? I think
we have some
catching up to do ," he smiled at me.
"Yeah, I gotta talk to Turn and Kat about this anyway,"
I replied.
"I can't wait to see them again," he said excited.
"Yeah, but they know what you did. If they're not too nice
at first, don't worry, they'll attach themselves to you again
soon," I replied. Nick pulled me in for a short sweet kiss.
I gave him my address so he'd know where to go. I went to the
studio and go t Kat and Turn.
"Kids, I'm getting married," I said bluntly as we went
home.
"To who? You haven't seen anyone since..." Turn trailed
off.
"Well, Nick," I told them, "I saw him at the grocery
store today and I don't know, this just feels right," I said
excited, "He's out with Hunter right now, so when you guys
see him be nice, okay?"
"But mom! He made you cry! I'm the man of the house and I
can't have
that!" Turn said getting protective. He was always doing
that now. He acted like he was 14.
"I've missed him," Kat commented.
"Only cuz he liked you better," Turn said snobbishly.
"Both of you jus be nice," I warned.
"Nick, I don't get it," Hunter said confused.
"Get what?" he asked.
"Mommy said you were famous, but I've never heard of you,"
he said with an unsatisfied look.
"Have you ever heard of the Backstreet Boys?" he asked
him.
"Yeah, Turn says they're gay. Especially the blonde one,
but I've never seen a picture of him," He laughed, "
I don't know what it means, but its a
funny work. Gay," he laughed uncontrollably.
"Well, I'm that blonde gay Backstreet Boy," he laughed
back. Hopefully
there weren't reporters around to hear that. It would have been
taken the
wrong way.
"Do you like video games? Cuz I just got this new one, but
Kat and Turn
won't play it with me. They don't like video games, even though
I always see Kat playing this one call Mario Kart. Turn says only
mean people play video games, but I'm not mean, am I?" he
asked worried.
"Of course not and of course I'll play with you. How about
we head back to your house and play," he offered.
"Yeah!" he cheered, "Nick, when am I suppose to
call you daddy?" he
asked unsure.
"Anytime you want," Nick grinned and picked him up.
"Okay daddy," he said softly. Nick couldn't stop smiling.
His son was so
adorable and didn't hate him for not being there. But as for Kat
and Turn, he'd have to work on that. He pulled in the driveway
to a large home. Much larger than my old house. He couldn't help
but wonder how I could have afford something like that. He saw
my car in the opened garage so he knew I was there.
Hunter ran and opened the door quickly.
