Chapter 36b

"Thanks for waiting," he laughed grabbing me from behind.

"Welcome," I giggled as he kissed my neck.

"You're still irresistible Ali," he said seriously when he turned me around. I kissed him softly.

"You're still horny Nick," I laughed.

"C'mon, I'm trying to be sexy here," he laughed. I grinned going in the
bathroom. He followed like a little kid, "I love you," he smirked.

"Well, I'm older now, I'm probably all wrinkly and fat to you now," I said feeling insecure.

"Al, don' worry, I love you no matter what," he told me seriously and
helping me with my clothes.

"I love you too," I said gently and kissed him. The phone went off, "Hang
on," I said wrapping a towel around myself. I went in my room and picked up the phone, "Hello?"

"Hey Al, are you busy?" Dan asked.

"Not really, I was just about to get a shower, what's up?" I asked.

"I have something to asked you, but I can't do it over the phone. Will you come out to dinner with me tonight?" he asked hopeful.

"Kat and Turn are working late and Hunter and I always go to the late ones. If you wanna come, I wouldn't mind," I replied walking around my room. Nick poked his head outside the bathroom door and made a puppy dog face.

"Sure. The kids are with their mom this week so just give me a call and
I'll meet you over there. Bye sweetie," he said and hung up.

"Bye," I whispered. I knew I wanted Nick, but hearing him say sweetie
confused me. I put the phone back in its place and stared at it.

"Ali," Nick whispered loudly. My head snapped in his direction. I smiled
slightly. I walked back in slowly. i jumped in without stopping to get a kiss from Nick.

Nick jumped in right behind me and grabbed my waist.

"Nick, not now," I pulled away," I need to get a shower."

"What's wrong?" he asked turning me around.

"Nothing, I just have a lot to do. I don't have time to fool around," I hurried to was and get out.

"Ali, wait, what's wrong?" Nick asked getting out. He wrapped a towel
around himself and followed me into my closet.

"I just have a lot of stuff on my mind," I forced a smiled on my face. I was fully dressed now and was air drying my hair. Nick pulled his clothes back on an put his glasses on.

"Okay," he said sounding unsatisfied.

"Nick, I've never seen you in your glasses before. You look good," I smiled for real this time. I put my hand I his hair, but it didn't feel the same, "Gel?" I asked pulling it out.

"Yeah, the guys said I looked better with the spikey do," he grinned.

"It looks good, but I can't play with it anymore," I whined.

"There's always a price for beauty," he gently kissed me. My thought on
Dan fluttered away.

"I love you," I whispered to him as our foreheads leaned again each other.

"I love you too," he kissed my nose.

"Dan called me sweety. That's why I acted weird," I blurted out.

"It didn't mean anyhting to you, did it?" he asked worried.

"Friendshipwise, but to him, it sounded like more," I replied, "I haven't exactly told him about you yet. I don't want to hurt him, "He's meeting me at the studio tonight. Come with me and I'll tell him then," I said seriously.

"Okay," he smiled. He kissed me softly.

"I'm I acted weird," I shook my head.

"Its okay, everyday I have millions of girls screaming my name, and you
know me, I act weird," he laughed. I hit his shoulder.

"Well its not everyday and ex calls me sweety so it freaked me out," I
said quietly. He lifted my chin to look at him. He took my hand in both of his an kneeled down infront of me.

"Will you marry me?" he asked raising the same velvet box and ring he had done 4 years ago.

"You already know the answer," I smiled and kissed him. He gently slid
the small diamond ring on my finger. It wasn't flashy, just plain and simple, like me.

We layed down on my bed just relaxing.

"How come you didn't chase after me?" I asked Nick gently while playing
with his hand.

"I didn't think you wanted me to," he replied. I kissed him lightly.

"Always come after me if I leave," I smiled as I enjoyed the comfort of his arms around me.

"Yes ma'am," he kissed my forehead.

"The kids, they're lessons are almost over," I whispered.

"You need to sleep a little. You look exhausted," he caressed my face.

"Thank you, but don't let me sleep long. I have to clean up before the guys come over," I yawned.

"I won't. Now sleep," he shut my eyes for me. I fell asleep easily. I really was tired. Three kids and a big house were not easy to take care of.

"Nick," Kat said sitting by him on the family room couch.

"What's up?" he asked facing her.

"Well, ever since I met you I've wanted to call you something, but wasn't
sure if I should. And Hunter and Turn call you it so Nick...can I call you Dad?" she asked nervously.

"Of course you can," he replied beaming with pride. They hugged gently and she ran off to her room.

All three kids were now calling him dad. It was the best feeling he could
have.

I woke up and went downstairs. I saw all the guys playing with the kids and the house was perfect.

"Hey baby, feeling better?" Nick asked from behind me.

"You didn't wake me up," I yawned and hugged him.

"I couldn't, you looked too cute," he gave me a light kiss.

"Mommy, guess what?" Hunter yelled.

"What honey?" I asked him.

"Turn gave me his truck. His FAVORITE truck!" he boasted.

"Well that was nice Turn," I commented.

"Its a kid toy, I can't be caught with a kid toy," he shrugged, "We finally met AJ, Howie and Kevin!"

"I can see that," I laughed as Kat was putting makeup on AJ. She always
did love to do makeup.

"Mom, have you met Alexandria?" Kat introduced.

"Why no I haven't," I played along, "Hi there Alex."

"Its AJ, Alison," he said embarrassed. Sure he was suppose to be the weird one but he was normal as anything and didn't like the makeover.

"Mommy," Hunter tugged on my pants.

"Yeah," I asked kneeling down to him.

"Me and B-Rok are going to play B-ball outside," he said excited.

"Have fun," I kissed his cheek.

"Mommy, c'mon, the guys are watching," he said embarrassed and staightening his shirt.

"Get outta here," I laughed and ruffled his hair.

"Al, I love the bed head look," Howie laughed.

"Thanks," I smirked.

"Don't worry, I think you look beautiful," Nick hugged me tightly.

"He's just trying to get laid!" AJ yelled.

"What's laid?" Kat ran up and asked me.

"When a chicken lays an egg, the egg has been layed," I told her hoping she'd buy it.

"Oh...no offense Nick, but you're not an egg," she whispered loudly.

"Oh, thanks, I was wondering about that," he picked her up.

"I saw Aaron on TV, can I meet him? He's really cute," she squealed.

"Cuter that your dad?" he asked cutely.

I felt tired again so I layed on the couch and rested my feet on Kevin. "Hope you're comfy," he said sarcastically.

"I am," I yawned. I didn't know what was wrong with me. Why was I so tied?

"Well, you're my dad. I can't think of you like that," Kat replied disgusted.

"Well, Aaron's your uncle," he laughed.

"Ew, sick! Nevermind!" she jumped our of his arms.

"Mom, we got go soon," Turn shook me.

"What time is it?" I asked sleepily.

"5," he said simply.

"C'mon, we gotta go," I sighed and got up, "Kat, you ready?"

"Yeah," she replied as her and Turn got their shoes and jackets on.

"Honey, you okay?" Nick asked pulling me to him.

"He called her honey," Howie joked.

"Awwwwww," AJ and Kevin chimed in.

"Shutup," Nick said embarrassed.

"I'm fine," I nodded smiling, "I gotta call Dan. OH! I gotta get Hunt ready," I said stressing out.

"I'll get Hunt. You call Dan," Nick said smiling with both hands on my
shoulders.

I nodded as he went outside.

"Dan?" all the guys questioned.

"My neighbor," I said simply. I dialed his number, "Dan, its me...I'm leaving right now...10 minutes? Okay. Bye," I hung up.

"Have fun," Howie waved.

"Are you guys planning to say over while I'm gone?" I asked kinda signaling them to leave.

"Oh, right, we leave now too," AJ laughed. They followed me outside. It
turned out Nick had jumped in on the game of basket ball. He lifted Hunter up and he dumped the ball in the net.

"We won! We won Daddy!" Hunter cheered. I smiled to myself thinking
what a great father Nick was and how great life was going to be. I yawned
again.

"C'mon guys we gotta go," I called to both of them. I looked a mess, I could feel it. My hair in a nice sloppy bun, no make up and a sweatshirt with
windbreaker pants. I was so glad it was yesterday I had run into Nick. He would never have proposed with me looking like this.

"I'm driving," Nick called. I had no objection to that so I threw the keys in his direction. Everyone loaded into the car. We had to wait for the rest of
the guys to pull out before we could leave. Finally, it was or turn. I fell asleep in the passengers seat.

"Is mommy okay?" Hunter asked seeing me.

"Yeah, she's fine. Just a little tired," Nick replied trying to sound like nothing was wrong. He reached over and felt my forehead anyway. Normal.

"Dad, when is your next tour?" Turn asked.

"Next month," he replied parking, "Kids go on in, I'll wake your mom up."
All 3 kids ran in the studio. Hunter wasn't as fast, but tried his hardest.
Nick got out and shut the door. He went over to my side and opened the
door.

"Ali," he said shaking me.

"10 more minutes," I mumbled.

"C'mon," he whispered picking me up. He carried me inside and layed me on the couch. Dan had gone to some of the recording sessions so he knew where to fine me on that couch. That's where I always was. Nick took Hunter to go get a candy bar from the vending machine.

"Ali, wake up," Dan shook me, "I'm here," he smiled warmly. I opened my
eyes and sat up.

"What did you want to asked me?" I asked redoing my hair.

"There's no good way to ask this so I'm just going to ask," he looked nervous and pulled a small black velvet ringbox out, "Will you marry me Ali?" he asked kneeling down and handing me the box.

Just then Nick and Hunter were coming back to check on me. Nick heard the whole thing. Hunter dropped his Kit-Kat to the floor. Even though he
was three he understood.

"Wow, um, Dan, I'm flattered, but," I lifted my hand and showed him the
ring, "I'm already taken."

"Oh, well, that's okay. Congrats. I better get home, the girls might be trying to call me," he said embarrassed. He started to get up to leave.

"Dan, wait, why, why did you do this?" I asked pulling him on the couch
next to me, "Why did you propose?"
