<six>

I was lying awake that night, not knowing why I was doing this. I knew Clarissa for almost six years, and we only decided to get married after we had dated a really long time. Five and a half years long. I don't know why Bailey made me so happy. But she did, she made me feel like I could fly. I watched her sleep and brushed her soft hair with my fingers. She looked so pretty. Moonlight was shimming from one of the windows and was hitting her face. She looked like a goddess. I carefully slid out from underneath her arms and walked around the apartment.

The darkness seemed to calm my nerves. We were on a flight at 9:30 am to California to see my family. I was afraid they wouldn't accept her, but in the same time I was afraid they would. I wasn't sure of anything since I met Bailey.

But before I met Bailey, I thought I couldn't be anything but a Backstreet Boy, I never seen my self as anything more. I could never see my self getting married, or living in a cute little house, or being a father. But Bailey had changed all that at once. Now all of a sudden, in a matter of a few days, I can see myself managing a singing group or maybe be a psychologist, having a nice house on the beach and a few kids running in the front yard. I didn't realize how long I was sitting there until Bailey came down the steps just waking up.

"Morning Nick."

I jumped, startled by the noise. "Morning Bailey."

She sat down with a cup of tea. "Bailey, we need to discuss a few things." I said. I figured we should discuss wedding dates, baby names, and places to live and schools where the baby would attend, The thinking I did last night made me realize it all.

"Like what?" she asked sipping her tea.

"Well first when are we going to get married?"

She smiled. "I have always liked October."

It was true I did too, but I wanted to get us married as soon as possible. "How about July?" she thought for a few moments then nodded cheerfully.

"We will figure out the rest at my mother's house." Thank god I was bored the other night because I packed our things, and we were running late. I pushed our things in the back of her car and drove quickly to the airport.

I slept most of the way there, so I'm not really sure how long it took us. But Bailey shook me gently and let me wake up to her bright smile. We waited out in the lobby thing for my sister, just as I had guessed, she was late. And moody, People began to spilt as a girl shoved her way through.

"Can we just go." My sister pouted just as she reached us.

"I love you to sis." I laughed.

BJ finally noticed I had a girl with me. She loosened up. "Oh I'm sorry, are you with my brother?"

Bailey nodded.

"You poor thing, well let's go."

We followed my sister to her car and drove in silence on the way home.

As my sister pulled up in front of the gates and the started to open I felt like I was going to throw up. "Nick? Are you all right, you seem really pale."

Bailey touched my forehead. "He doesn't like visiting our mother very much." BJ's voice seemed to soften, she knew what I had been through, With my mother and the National Inquirer.

"I'll go in and tell them your hear, and that you'll be in, in a few minutes." BJ smiled nicely and hugged me. I sat in the car with Bailey just holding me.

"Baby what is it?" she asked softly.

"It's just my mother and I don't get along, after she gave an interview to pretty much every news paper, and every music station, and she wrote a book about me. I wouldn't have minded so much if she would have asked my permission. But she did it behind my back."

Bailey kissed my forehead, then my nose, then my lips. She pulled away. "I love you." I smiled and kissed her back.

"I love you too." She took my hand and pulled me out of the car and into the house. My mother and father and all my younger brother and sisters were waiting in the dining room.

"Everyone this is Bailey, Bailey this is, my mother Jane, my father Bob, My only brother Aaron, my sister BJ whom you've met, my sister Leslie and my baby sister Angel."

Bailey went around greeting everyone.

"Would you play Barbies with me before dinner?" Angel asked shyly.

Bailey squatted down and smiled. "I'd love to."

Angel was beaming with glee. She took Bailey's hand and guided her to her bedroom.

I smiled. "Well? What do you think?" I asked my family.

Aaron ran up the stairs.

Leslie smiled, "I think she is pretty, a little fat but pretty."

My parents had not told them? I gave my mother a questioning glance. "We left it to you to break the news." she said simply.

Suddenly Aaron came running down the steps with a big smile on his face. "Bailey said she'd play Playstation with me after dinner!"

I laughed two down, four to go.

I sat nervously at the dinner table. My family was loud enough to wake the dead so if I just said it maybe they wouldn't hear me. I took Bailey's hand and cleared my throat.

They all looked at me. I felt so out of place. Everyone was quiet. Bailey tightened her hand, she was as scared as I was.

"Everyone, Bailey and I are going to be married." I waited for their shock, their enthusiasm something. My parents quieted them and waited for me to go on. I groaned.

"And Leslie, the reason Bailey has put on a little weight is because she is pregnant... We are also having a baby."

Aaron began gasping on his food. Angel slapped his back without even looking away from me, and a big piece of steak flung across the table without anyone's notice. My cheeks turned pink.

Bailey picked at her salad. "May I be excused?" BJ asked, my mother nodded and BJ left the room.

I sat looking at my other siblings. Leslie smiled widely. "I'm going to be an aunt?" She asked with an awed whisper.

Bailey smiled and nodded. Aaron was still coughing. "Cool. Can me and Aaron help you name it?" Angel asked. They were accepting her.

I smiled. "Is that okay Bailey?"

Bailey smiled. "Yeah that be great. Hey Aaron you still on for a game of Playstation?" Bailey challenged.

Aaron looked up. "You bet!"

Bailey and Aaron took their plates and let the room to play the game. I was left with Leslie and my mother and father. "Aunt Leslie, Aunty L. Aunt Leis..." Leslie whispered as she took her plate to the kitchen.

I raised my eyes to my parents. They had large smiles on their faces. "We are proud of you Nick." I smiled. "Maybe you better check on your sister though." I nodded and excused myself.

Quietly I walked up the steps and knocked on my sister's door. "BJ?" I called.

"What?"

"Can I come in?" I heard BJ turn off her music and come to the door. She opened it and fell back onto her bed. "Hey what's wrong? Don't you like Bailey?" I asked sitting on her bed.

"Yeah, well sort off. I mean she's pretty, but I'm afraid..." She trailed off.

I was confused. "Of what?"

She laughed a little and sighed. "Of being left out. When you were going to be married to Clarissa, she left me out of everything. The wedding and your lives. Angel and Leslie were in the wedding. I wanted to be too." I kissed her forehead.

"If it were my choice you would be in that wedding. But it's not, it's Bailey's, I choose the best man." BJ looked ready to cry. " We will just wait and see what Bailey does."

BJ nodded and lay down on her bed. I slapped her leg playfully and left the room.
