Chapter Three

"When Chris walked in I heard you say you loved his music, so I was going to go over and get his autograph for you, but he yelled at me and called me a slut," I started to fake cry, "All I wanted to do was make you happy."

"Oh Al, I'm sorry," he got up and hugged me tight, "I should never have doubted you. You're too sweet to try and get another date while on a date with me," he said hugging me tighter. He wiped my tears away with his thumb.

"I'm sorry for making you think that," I looked up into his eyes.

"Its okay, c'mon, lets get out of here," he said standing me up, "Truth is, I hate french food," he laughed.

"Really?" I asked composing myself, "Me too," I smiled at him. We got out of there before the waiter even came, "I'll call John back," I said pulling out my cellphone.

"Lets walk," he said putting his hand ontop of mine. I looked up at him surprised. It was then I realized how much taller he was than me. I put my cell phone back, "It'll be fun," he assured me. We walked slowly down the sidewalk about 10 feet before Nick took my hand in his. He really wanted me. i mean, who would believe that story I made up? I felt bad about it, but I had to tour with this guy AND share the same bus.

"So, how old are you exactly?" I asked unsure. He looked down at the ground and then smiled at me.

"I'm 20," he said a little embarrassed.

"Then why me?" I asked wanting to know more about him. Maybe if I knew more about him I could hook him up with one of my friends. It began to pour down with rain just then.

"C'mon, lets run," he said wanting to shelter me from the rain.

"In these shoes? I don't think so. Lets just walk it'll be fun," I quoted him. He nodded as we continued to walk. His hand was still tightly holding onto mine.

"I have a friend who really likes you," I started to start a conversation.

"She's just a fan," he told me as we continues to walk in the rain. The street and the view looked beautiful. It was all glistening.

"Could you maybe just talk to her? She's one of you biggest and most devoted fans. She's my best friend and it hardly seems fair I'm out here with you and not her," I said looking up at him. He stopped me and looked down at me. He actually seemed normal and a pretty okay guy now...still one I didn't fancy though.

"If it makes you happy, I'll call her," he said and put a hand on my cheek. my hand was finally free of his. Even though I was glad he let go, I wished his hand wasn't on my cheek. In fact I wished he wasn't touching me at all. I didn't like it. That night was truly a punishment. Sharon was suppose to out there with him, not me. The only reason I was there was because I played with his emotions a little. Mark overreacted, I always only wore sports bras.

"That would be great," I fake smiled. I quickly folded my arms so he wouldn't reach for my hand again.

"Are you cold?" he asked as we started to walk again.

"A little, but I'll be fine," I shrugged and watched the ground. I was actually freezing, but I didn't want him to think so.

"Here," he said putting his jacket over my shoulders. It was huge and it smelled funny. I didn't ask for that. I said a little not 'hey give me your jacket!'

"Thanks," I smiled slightly. The rest of the walk home I stayed silent. He talked about all my favorite artists. i wonder why. i kept nodding to act like I was interested.

"Well, this is my building," I sighed.

"I better walk you up. You never know who could be around at this time of night," he said sounding protective.

"Better do what he wants," I thought. I vaguely smiled and opened the door. He followed me upstairs and I stopped at my door.

"I guess this is goodnight," he said sounding like he wanted to come in.

"Yep, bye, seeya," i unlocked my door and stepped in.

"Wait, I need your number," he turned me around by pulling my shoulder back. I didn't understand why, we were leaving that next day. i wrote Sharon's number on his hand like I'd promised, "Expect a call before you leave," he stoked my soaking wet hair and left. I went in my apartment and saw Nick's jacket still on me. I threw it on the ground.

"How dare he call me a slut!" I yelled. i was still angry at Chris. I only wanted a date, what's wrong with that? He had no right to yell at me. A few minutes later the phone rang, "I gave him Sharon's number!" I yelled angry, "Hello?" I asked with a fake sweet tone.

"Good, you're back, now pack!" I heard Mark come over. Was it really midnight? I looked at my watch. We had walked for 3 hours! I didn't realize it took that long.

"Okay, 7 tomorrow, yeah?" I asked to verify the time.

"Yeah, so how was your date?" he asked curious. He hoped I had hit it off with Nick. I ran my hand through my hair and let it fall down to my side.

"He's gullible," I laughed.

"What did you do?" he asked worried. I heard him sigh.

"I set him up with someone else and I'm working on getting me someone," I said slyly, "But ya know what? I'm really tired and I better get to bed," I said getting tied of him trying to control me.

"Alison Hope! I swear I can't let you out of my sight! Get to bed and if Nick calls you be nice!" he demanded.

"I don't think he'll call," I laughed in my head, "Okay, bye. Don't forget to pick me up!" I ordered.

"Yes ma'am, night," he hung up. I hung my phone up and got packing. I put in normal clothes just to wear on the bus. I didn't always have to look perfect! I finally got everything packed and went to bed thinking about Chris.

"He thinks I'm a slut. On the other hand, there's AJ," I thought happily to myself. I decided then I was determined to get AJ.

*The Next Morning*

My phone rang, "How could he get my number?" I mumbled. I picked up the phone, "hello?"

"OHMIGOSH! ALI I LOVE YOU! I JUT GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH NICK!!!! HE'S SOOOOOOO SWEET!" Sharon squealed. "Shar, breathe," I laughed, "Now what happened?"

"He called me and asked for you, so I was like, this isn't her number, then he was like oh, and sounded embarrassed so I told him I was Sharon and he told me all the nice things you said about me last night! So we just kept talking and he had to go because he had to get to the bus, and," she would have continued, but I stopped her.

"Crap! Mark's gunna be here! I gotta go Shar, I'll call you later!"
