We kept our little routine for 6 months, nobody knew about it. He would always come to my room each night at 11:00; we had sex and then stayed in each other's arms until he had to leave to his room. I loved him everyday more; even my free days we spent them together in a little apartment that he shared with a friend for occasions like this. We were so much in love or that's what I thought. But like everything good in my life it didn't last long.
One day he arrived with some girl, a beautiful blond girl with a great body she looked like an actress. He was talking with Mr. and Mrs. Carter in the living room so I went to bring them some drinks and I listened what ripped my heart in a million pieces.
"Mom, Dad" he said "This is Mandy, my girlfriend, we're gonna get married in six months" he said. I felt like somebody took my heart out of my chest ripped it in million pieces, I ran away to the kitchen crying as everybody greeted them.
"What's wrong with her?" Mandy asked.
"I have no idea" Nick answered giving his fiancée a kiss.
"I'll go check on her" Mrs. Carter said.
I was in my room packing up my stuff, I was going to leave, Nick was not going to play with me like that, never again. I knew that if I stayed he could do anything he wanted with me. He had this way that made me surrender with just a touch, a word. "He's gonna get married" I thought "So all this time he was just playing with me, with my heart. I trusted him, but not any more" .
"What's wrong Karla?" Mrs. Carter asked me.
"It's nothing" I answered.
"So why did you did that in front of Nick's fiancée? Why are you packing? Are you leaving?" she asked.
"Yes I'm leaving. I'm sorry. I really appreciate what you've done for me. From the bottom of my heart thank you very much. But now I have to leave. I'm sorry" I said.
"But, where are you going?" she asked.
"I don't know. I have some money that I've been saving so I'll use it until I find another job and a place to live" I said.
"But the kids are going to miss you, especially Nick, you two are really close and I know he'd like you to be with him the day of his wedding" she said.
"I'm sorry; please say goodbye from me to everybody and once again thank you very much" I hugged Mrs. Carter. I had already finished packing my suitcase; I took everything I had except for a gift that Nick gave me; it was a little heart-shaped trophy that said " YOU'VE WON MY HEART". I gave one last glance to the room that had so many memories and left, forever.
