'Angie! Wake up!' mum yelled. Angela turned around and covered her face with a pillow. 'Angela Claiborne! Get your butt out of bed this instance!' yelled her mother, a bit louder this time.

Angela gave in. 'Yes mum! I'm out of bed!' she yelled back.

'Perfect. You've got an appointment at the dance academy in 3 hours and I want you to practice before you go.' mum added.

'Oh god! That's today! I forgot all about that!' she said to herself and undressed quickly to take a shower. She dressed into her dance clothes and went through the back door into the studio her father built for her when she turned 18, instead of the promised car he gave her older brother when he reached his 18th birthday.

Angela placed a CD in the stereo and pressed play. Her favorite dance song echoed through the studio. Message of love by one of her favorite groups named Journey. She played the song over and over again until she knew every beat of the drum and every word. After that she had made up a whole new dance routine to the song which she knew by heart. Every step, every turn.

She moved around as graceful as a black panther. With the elegance of a paradise bird. Angela had been dancing since she was really little. She was always the center of attention. Her younger sister Jamie despised her for always being everybody's favorite. But her older brother Scott on the other hand was very proud of his sister. He drove her to all the auditions and helped her learn her dance moves into perfection. He was also the one who signed her for the audition at the dance academy. Angela was very grateful.

She always did the best she could and held her head up high. Even if she lost, she would always try be happy for the winner. Angela saw losing as a sign for her, to work harder and to try better. She became better and better up until the day she had to audition for the dance academy. And that day was today.

'Angie!' Scott yelled. 'Where are you?'

'She in the studio dancing.' Mum explained and pointed outside.

'Thanks mum. Did you tell her or did she go herself?' Scott asked.

'Sorry Scott.' Mum said. 'I had to tell her.'

'Good God! Will that girl ever learn how important this is?!' Scott yelled and barged outside into the studio. Angela looked up when she heard him come in.

'Hey Scotty.' She said smiling.

'Stop smiling Angie. Mum told me.' Scott said and sat down in a chair.

'I'm sorry Scott. I was so tired after last night.' She explained. 'And I... kinda forgot the whole dance academy thing was today...'

'You forgot?! Have you got any idea how much trouble I went through to get you this opportunity?!' he yelled.

Angela stared at her feet. 'I'm sorry Scott.' She said with a shivering voice trying not to cry.

'Oh Angie. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry. It's just... I want this to work out for you.' He said and hugged his sister. 'I'm sorry.'

'It's okay Scott. I'm sorry too.' Angela said and held her brother tightly.

'Okay. Now show me what you've got.' Scott said and sat down again.

'Alright.' Angela said and took her position. As soon as the record started Angela started to dance. Scott was very impressed. And when she finished he applauded.

'Angie! That's great! Did you think of everything yourself?' he asked.

'Well... not everything. I took a few steps out of some other routines. I took these steps...' She said and moved around a bit. 'From the Everybody-Backstreet's back routine. And these...' again she danced a few
paces. 'Are from Britney's Sometimes. Do you like it?'

'Angie. The routine is really great. Can you do it without the music?' he asked.

Angela glared at him with a frightened look on her face. 'What's wrong?'

'I can't do it without the music.' She replied and stared at her feet again.

'Okay. Then we're gonna need to work on that. And on your charisma... and your look. What are you goin' to wear to the audition?' Scott asked.

Angela raised her shoulders. 'Well. It doesn't really matter what you wear as long as you feel comfortable in it.' he said.

'Then I think I'll wear this. Is that okay?' she asked.

Scott observed his sister and nodded. 'That will do. But don't forget to take a shower before we go.'

'I will. Thank you Scotty... for everything you've done for me.' she said and hugged him.

'That's okay Angie. Anything for my sister.' He said and smiled at her. 'Now do it again!'

'Yes sir.' She said and walked over to the stereo. She danced until the audition was only one hour away.

'You can relax for now. Get a shower and eat something.' Scott ordered and left the studio.

Angela sat down on the floor and started to think of all the things she would be able to do if she would be accepted at the dance academy. Maybe one day I could be a tour dancer for some famous artist, she said to herself and laid back. She could already picture herself on stage dancing with the singer. Their bodies moved closely next too each other. He looked into her eyes and then...

'Angie!'

Angela looked up and glared at her sister. 'What?!' she snapped.

'Phone!' Jamie said and ran back inside. Angela got up and walked over to the stereo where the phone was at. 'Angela.' She said.

'Hey girl.' A voice said.

'Oh hi Beverly.' She replied. 'How are ya?'

'I'm fine. You? Exited for the big audition?' her best friend asked.

'No, not really. I'm just scared that I freak and mess up the routine.' Angela said.

'You won't.' Beverly said. 'I've seen you dance. You know that routine by heart. You could even dance it with your eyes closed if you'd try.'

'Thanks Beverly. Always there to make me feel better.' Angela said. 'Where would I be without you?'

'Nowhere.' Beverly answered. The girls laughed. And Angela promised to call right after the audition. 'Do they tell you right away if you're accepted?' Beverly asked.

'I don't know. But I guess so.' She answered. 'I think Scott will know. I could go ask him.'

'No, that's okay. I'll talk to you later.' Beverly said. 'Good luck girl. Show them what you've got!'

'I will. Bye.' Angela said and hung up. She turned off the radio and walked into the kitchen.

'Hey honey. How are you?' dad asked. 'Not nervous?'

'I'm okay. Not nervous, just scared that I'll mess up the routine.' She answered.

'You can't mess up. You know the routine too well.' Dad reassured her.

'Thank you daddy.' Angela said and hugged her father. 'I love you.'

'I love you too pumpkin.' Dad said and walked out of the room. 'Good luck!'

'Thanks dad.' Angela said and fixed herself something to eat.
