"Um, Brian, Kevin? We were kinda having a moment here?" My face turned a crimson red. Yeah I had had girlfriends before, but I was so embarrased to show affection in front of anyone. I noticed that the hug between me and Jordayn was getting rather long. Not that I wanted to let go, but with two other people in the room, it felt weird. I turned my head slightly towards Jordayn. She was surveying my neck! Was was all that about?

"Oh, sorry Nicky, we'll leave ya'll alone, but um...we need you to come out of that room," Brian told me in a weird tone while looking around the room.

"Why? This is my house?" After all, it was morning, and I was always grumpy in the morning.

"Because there's a surprise for you," Jordayn suddenly pulled away from me and stood by her cousins.

"Um...okay...elaborate please?"

"Its a surprise, just...just go outside, and Jordayn will be right out to show it to you," Kevin nudged her.

"Yes, go outside...I'll be right out!" she told me a little shocked and nervous at the same time.

"Okay, I'll be out on the deck," I said confused and headed out there. They all gave me weird looks as I left. Something was definetly up.

The evil force was in the room. And we had to get Nick out of there. We had to find out what it was. What was after us, or worse, what was after him. I told Nick that there was a surprise for him outside to get him out of there. It was the only way. I could tell he was confused, but it was for his own good.

"Okay, Jordayn, you have the best powers, now what is going on in this house?" Brian asked, panicking.

"There was a mark. On Nick's neck. They're coming for him, or us. I didn't get to scan it too well. He kept moving," I told them hurriedly as I saw Nick getting antcy outside.

"Who put it there?" Kevin asked quickly.

"I have no idea...I'll go see if I can get a closer look at the mark. Stay here and check for clues. If its that force my dad had to fight...there will definitely be clues. They're sloppy about it."

"Okay...go, he's starting to come back in!" Brian pushed me towards the door. I opened it and quickly headed over to Nick.

"What took so long? I got lonely," he reached for my hand.

"Oh, just some quick last minute arrangements."

"Okay, well I know there's a surprise for me, but I want to take you somewhere. Is that okay?"

"Its fine," I said relieved, maybe he'd forget the surprise. He squeezed my hand tightly and lead me out to the beach. I felt like I was in Heaven... well... my world's Heaven, but its similar to Earth's.

"I come out here almost every morning. Mostly when I'm upset. It relieves me in a way," he sat me down in a shaded area on the beach, "The sea air has an affect on me," he smiled a little bit and looked over at me, "Just like you do." I sure did affect him...I caused him the loss of most of his memory, and he would be blind if I didn't help. I just smiled slightly. I felt the guilt wash over me. I let go of his hand and held it the same way I did when I tried to read his mind, "What are you doing?"

"Just stay quiet for a minute," I whispered and read the lines on his hands, "You're scared...why?"

"My sight. It comes and goes, and soon I'll be blind," he looked away discouraged, "If you want to leave me so you don't have to stick around...go now."

"No, I wouldn't do that," I turned his head towards mind, "Close your eyes." He sighed heavily and closed them in a relaxed position. I put my index fingers on his temples and concentrated.

"What are you doing Jordayn?" He asked in a laughing tone.

"Just stay quiet..." I looked through everything about him. His hopes, his dreams, girls he'd been with... Samantha Lynn was there... but she wasn't mortal. He couldn't even tell she wasn't. But then again, mortals aren't that smart at telling who's mortal and who's not. She had an evil presence about her. I didn't like her just from what I saw of her. She played jokes on him to make him scared of millions of things. But he always ran to her. It was as if he believed she was his guardian angel, but she was the complete opposite. I felt like I knew him and I could trust him, "Nick, I have to tell you something about me..." His eyes fluttered open quickly.

"Tell me."

"I'm not what you think I am. Not at all," I looked at the ground shamed.

"JORDAYN!" Brian's stern voice yelled in my head.

"What is it?" Nick asked eager.

"Jordayn, you know what will happen!"

"I'm from Seattle..." I sighed.
