Nick busted inside the rooms of the east wing. "Where is Sky?" Aaron asked.
"She's dead... someone or something, ripped her throat out within three minutes."
"Oh my God." Leslie whispered.
"We have to leave and we have to do it now." He walked quickly to the window and tried to open it. It was locked, just like everything else in the house.
"Give me something to break this window."
Aaron looked around and spotted a dusty hammer in a corner of the room."Here."
Nick smiled. "Stand back." He covered his eyes and swung the hammer as hard as he could towards the glass. It shattered with a loud noise. Nick stepped out onto the window ledge. That's when he realized the rain was pouring down in sheets.
"BJ when I get down there I want you to start helping everyone out. Then slid down yourself okay?" Nick had to scream over the lighting, thunder, and pounding drops of rain.
BJ nodded. "Okay!"
Nick let go of the ledge, letting himself slide down to the flat plate. He stood up on it and began to jump. It would hold them all. He waved his hand for BJ to start sending the others down. First came Aaron.
"Aaron tie this rope tightly on one of the bars."
Aaron nodded and took the rope from Nick's already dripping hands. Nick looked up as Angel started to slide down and into his arms, then came Leslie, and last came BJ. Aaron had tied the rope and it was ready to go.
"Okay, BJ you first."
BJ walked up towards Nick. "And here we go." She whispered.
Nick smiled and hugged her. "If I don't make it, I want you to know I love you."
BJ nodded.
"You're going to make it."
She took a hold of the rope and began to slide down. One by one Nick watched as his sisters and brother made their way down. He turned to look just one last time at the house he remembered so well. As he looked inside the open window he saw his Aunt and his cousin staring solemnly at him. They didn't attempt to catch him, they just stared like they envied his freedom. He let his eyes linger for a few moments longer before he slide down the rope himself.
