Freyja strolled into the Tampa Environment Club meeting and found herself a seat. Today the meeting would focus on every members individual views on the world. Freyja already knew what she wanted to say.

The club chairwoman Anne addressed the group. "We'll go around the room and hear what you all have to say,".

Freyja sat back and listened to what everyone had to say. She nodded her head with agreement as members, of all ages, spoke of their opinion of the planet. All of them were worried with the state of their planet.

"What about you, Lili?" Anne asked a girl about the same age as Freyja who sat quietly in the corner.

Freyja covered her mouth as she gasped. Lili... could that be her great-grandmother? She looked at the girl. She looked a lot like her grandmother- the same glossy black hair and shining eyes, only she looked a lot younger of course. "It's her," Freyja whispered to herself with a smile.

"I think there is a lot of beauty on out planet," Lili said, standing up as she spoke to the group. "But it's slowly being destroyed, just look at the rainforests of Brazil for example. What if our children and grandchildren grown up not being able to enjoy the beaches of Florida here, because of pollution poisoning the oceans? I think major action needs taking, as soon as possible,".

"That's a good point you made there, Lili," Anne said. "And let me make an important point while we're on the subject of the oceans. Florida is on low-lying land, so if Global Warming continues it is likely that the ice caps of the north and south poles will melt, causing areas like this to flood and be lost forever,".

Freyja nodded sadly, knowing that Anne was right. Florida would flood and be lost in the future, unless she succeeded in her quest to improve the world.

After everyone in the room had spoken of their views, Anne asked for ideas of what action to take. "As you can probably guess, there are hundreds of environmental groups like us over the world, all trying to do something to help the planet," she informed them. "So what kind of action should we take?".

People suggested the obvious ideas like writing to world leaders, petitions and flyers but no-one could think of anything original.

"Try and think of some ideas over the week to share in our next meeting," Anne said at the end of the session as everyone got up to leave.

Freyja slipped on her shades as she got outside, watching Lili. She opened her mouth to speak to her but Lili had already rushed off. Freyja dissapointedly made her way back to Nicks' house.

Nick walked over to Freyja's desk and looked curiously at what Freyja was writing down. "What's this?" he asked her, sitting on the chair next to her.

"It's a novel I'm writing," Freyja said, looking up and putting her pen down. She had decided to write as story based on the future world, hoping that if she got it published, it would make people aware of what was ahead.

"Cool, what's it about?" Nick asked.

"It's set in the future, about how the Earth will be, uh, might be, if pollution and stuff like that continues,".

"Sounds great, can I read it?" Nick asked eagerly.

"Not yet!" Freyja said. "I'm only on chapter one,".

"OK, but you gotta let me read it when it's finished. Look, how about going out tonight? Catch a movie maybe?".

"Sure, that would be cool," Freyja agreed as Nick wrapped his arms around her. She loved being with Nick, he was so kind and caring. She hoped they would stay together- partly because she loved him, partly because she needed to stay in contact to stop him dying. The accident would happen in just a month...

A few hours later Freyja and Nick stepped outside and got into his car, ready to go out. Freyja breathed in the fresh air, feeling lucky. She'd never breathed air outdoors before until arriving in 2000. She looked around at the palm trees swaying with the bright blue skies behind them. Another sight she hadn't experienced until going back in time. It would soon all be destroyed unless she managed to do something.

Her gazed switched to Nick as she got into the car and sat next to him. He was so young and full of life. He wasn't ready to die yet. he had so many years of opportunity ahead of him.

They drove along the street, passing some girls who noticed Nick and smiled, waving at him. This made Freyja think how the fans would react if he would die. They would be devastated. She couldn't let it happen.

Nick put a hat and some shades on as they walked into the cinema and paid for their tickets. Freyja looked around at the posters advertising movies. Movies...

Freyja had a sudden idea. She could send her novel about the future to movie directors! if it was to be made into a movie, the whole world would see how the world was heading and make them more aware. Of course, she would have to pass it off as fiction since no-one would believe her if she told the truth.

She smiled, pleased with herself for coming up with the great idea.
