I don't even know how long it's been since I had left my room. I had heard Brian and Leigh talking only to find out Jewel was back in Florida and she hadn't told me something. I needed to know and I needed to tell her everything how I felt and what had happened that day and everything since then.

I quickly dressed into a pair of baggy jeans and a red sweater. It wasn't that hot that day so the sweater was fit perfect for the weather. As I jogged down the steps I seen Leigh and Brian look at me.

"Brian where is Jewel staying?" I asked him. I was in a hurry looking for my car keys and tennis shoes.

"Well... she is uh at... her cousin... at AJ's" Brian stuttered.

I stood up and walked towards the door. I grabbed my wallet off of the table by the door. "I'll be back in about an hour." I walked out of the house and jumped into my truck.

I drove in silence. Normally to make myself feel better I would listen to Journey but I wasn't in the mood. I just wanted silence, just so I could think of everything I should have said and everything I need to say. It was only a twenty-minute drive to AJ's house so really I was there in no time.

I pulled up next to AJ's orange jeep and red explorer. I jumped out of my truck with my heart pounding inside of my chest. I took a deep breath before knocking on the door.

AJ answered it within minutes.

As I saw Nick standing on my doorstep I was shocked. "Kaos?" I asked, like it really wasn't him.

A smile slowly spread across his face. "Hey Bone, miss me much." He joked. Same old Nick, well sort of. I invited him in. "Where is Jewel, I really need to talk to her."

I pointed to the kitchen. I watched him clench his fists to stop his obvious shaking and make his way towards my kitchen.

I slowly walked into AJ's kitchen only to find Jewel standing in front of the stove with earphones to a portable CD player that was strapped on her waist. I noticed she had gained a little weight. Slowly I walked up behind her and tapped her shoulder.

She turned quickly with a smile. I smiled nervously as she dropped the egg in her hand and pulled down the earphones. "Can we talk?" I asked, trying to keep my voice as calm as I could.

"Sure... Lets go for a walk."

I nodded and followed her out into AJ's living room. "Alex, I'm going for a walk, and you might want to pick up that egg I dropped." She rushed out of the house before he could say anything. I walked along next to her.

"So you wanted to talk to me?" She whispered.

I nodded, "Yeah, about that girl in my living room that day." She stopped a little then continued walking. "She had forced it all on me, Jewel I swear, I wanted to stop I just didn't know how."

She looked up at me. "Nick you could have stopped it." She whispered.

I shook my head, "I know. But emotion had overtaken me, I was going to be married to her. I broke it off the day I met you... It was just seeing her again and she said that she was pregnant with my child but it ended up it was the..."

She cut me off by putting her hand up. "Speaking of pregnant and children..." She let her sentence trail. I stopped and faced her with concern. "I didn't want to tell you, I was afraid something between us would be ruined."

I looked at her tiny stomach that I thought was from eating too much. It suddenly dawned on me. "You're..." I couldn't finish it.

"I'm pregnant."

I ran the words over inside of my head. I couldn't place them. I wasn't sure if I was scared, hurt, happy, or what. I rubbed my hand through my hair and continued walking. "You should have told me." I said to her.

"Well you should have told me about that girl." She replied.

"Okay we are even."

We walked a little longer in silence just let nothingness pass between us. I felt Jewel's had close into mine. I smiled and was almost overcome by happiness.

I laid in bed that night feeling Nick's breath softly blow near my ear. I was happy we were together again. In the light of the moon I looked at the ring he had given me in a marriage proposal. We were on the swings at the park after a long talk. He just turned and kneeled and said. "Marry me." I accepted by throwing myself in his arms of course and now here we were.

I felt his arm drape across my waist and pull me closer. I missed the feeling of his touch and I missed the way he smelled and the feeling that he was always close to me.

I turned over so I was facing him. I lightly kissed his lips. He woke up returning it. "What was that for?" He asked sleepily.

"I love you." Was all I said before I cuddled into his chest.

I woke up in a bright orange room and wondered where I was. As I felt Jewel's soft body next to mine I remembered happily. I was with her and that was all that mattered. Slowly I got up and went downstairs.

"Hey AJ" I said passing him up in the kitchen. AJ smiled and continued eating. I heard Jewel come down the stairs.

"Ya know Nicky we should start looking for a house." Jewel said wrapping her arms around my waist from behind me.

"Yeah Baby I know, I was thinking of going house hunting today."

Jewel nodded and came up beside me. "What are you cooking?" She asked.

I cracked an egg into the frying pan. "Eggs, what else, it's the only thing I can cook besides toast." I laughed.
