I sat in my easy chair and twirled my wedding ring around my finger. My wife was missing for almost five and a half years. The police never found anything on her.

They explained to me that if she is still missing within six years, they stop the search and declare her legally dead. Six years was coming around in 14 months. I dreaded the day they come to my house and say we stopped the search.

I heard something coming up behind me and I turned to see Savannah. "Daddy, will you come sing me a song? I can't sleep."

I nodded and took my seven year old little girl by the hand and guided her up the stairs. I sang her an old song from one of my old albums. "I need you tonight."

I watched her blue eyes close with every word I sang. I looked around her room. Her mother had decorated it before she was born, The walls were grass green, A border of dolphins graced the top by the ceiling. A picture of the ocean that she had painted was hung above her bed, by the windows there were wooden children that kneeled and prayed, that Jewel had created in wood shop when she was little, a boy and a girl, Something she had always wanted but would never get. By my daughter's closet there were pictures I drew and pictures I had taken.

I slowly tip toed out of Savannah's bedroom and went back downstairs. I looked over at the suitcases that were by my front door. Brian, Leigh and their two children have come to stay with me. They are afraid I might break down now that the sixth year mark is coming up.They had an eight year old little girl named Jennifer and a six year old little boy named Jordan. They were great kids I smiled at the thought of me being the father of a little boy and girl. But that wouldn't happen... Not without Jewel. I wouldn't marry again, I wouldn't fall in love again... It hurt to much when you lose them.

My doorbell rang, I looked at my watch "It's 10:45 at night, who would be ringing my doorbell?" I got up and walked towards it, In the corner of my eye I seen Brian come out of the guestroom.

I opened the door to reveal a pretty lady. She was wrapped up in a cloak like thing, and she had green eyes. "She isn't dead." The woman whispered handing me a letter only addressed with my name. "If he knows I was here, he'll kill me, but she was desperate to get that too you."

I tried to say something, but the woman ran down my porch steps and into a black van. The van sped off down the street.

"Brian" I whispered calling him over. I shut my door and ripped open the letter. The date at the top was today... I looked at Jewel's fancy, and familiar handwriting.

Dear Nick, I know you've been searching for me, But don't. If he finds out he'll kill you and Savannah, I don't want you two dead. I love you guys with all my heart. I dream about the day I'll come home to you both. And Nick, I will come home. I want you to know that I was kidnapped, I did not leave you, you know I would never do that. I miss you every day I am away from you. Nicky if I am not back within the next year I know by police I will be declared legally dead, and it will probably be true that I am dead. So I want you to move on. But not yet. I want to tell you where I am, but that is impossible seeing as he moves me from state to state so we do not get caught. He is an ex-boyfriend that killed my brother Asa years ago. His name is Jeff Reynolds. I love you Nick.
Love forever,
Jewel

"Brian, Get the police on the phone, I know who kidnapped my wife."
