"Anybody home?" I walked into the main foyer. "Hello?" I brought my bags up to my room and searched all levels of the house. I checked outside in the front but her car was there. Charlie barked at the sliding doors in the back and I let him out. Sam was lying on the deck swing sound asleep. I felt bad waking her up so I decided to unpack first and clean up a little and than wake her up.I finished everything I even called my mother back and she still was sound asleep. It was around six thirty and I needed her to help me make dinner for Kevin. He didn't really like take-out food except for Chinese food.

"Sam. Come On Sam wake up." She rubbed her eyes sleepily

"Mom?" I stifled my giggles "No it's Lisa." She opened her eyes a little more

"Oh Hey I didn't hear you get in how was your trip?"

"Good." I didn't mention that Nick had dropped me off.

"C'mon inside you've been out here for a while now," she got up and we went inside.

"Greg's coming at 8." I looked at the clock well it's only 6:45, so you have enough time to help me cook dinner and then do what you need to do."

"Gee Thanks."

"Let's get cooking." We pulled everything we had in the kitchen and started stirring up trouble. I wasn't very good in the kitchen But my cooking skills were as low as Sam's ability to tell the difference between lip liner and eye liner. We cooked Penne Ala Vodka and through together a salad. I left to get a bottle of wine. While Lisa was out I made chocolate covered strawberries with whip cream, and I wasn't about to ask. I figured since it was 7:30 I should leave to get the movies.I waited for Lisa to get back "I left everything ready to serve except for the strawberries they're in the refrigerator. If Greg comes before I get back tell him to wait for me upstairs"

"hm? Oh OK." I have her a funny look but I shrugged it off.I was in the store for 10 minuets and waited on line for 10 minutes which felt like a life time. I was in a rush to leave so I raced to my car, practically knocking over this guy. I dropped all the stuff out of my bag. I guess I was a little nervous about seeing Greg again. After collecting my things I stood up picking up my bag I thanked the man. "Thank...you." I froze. I didn't know what to do. I would have left expect he was holding my sunglasses, and for a moment the current of energy running between us was so strong. It was like old sparks, if he didn't look so good I wouldn't have cared.

"Nick, hi." He got an uneasy look to him.

"Hey, uh what are you doing here?" I looked at my blockbuster bag

"Movies right. Well, I hope you had a nice trip," he was playing with the ring on his finger. He always did that when he was nervous. When he saw me staring at his finger he shoved his hand in his pocket.

"Bad habit I guess," he raised his eyebrows and sighed.

"Yeah, guess so, Well I guess I'm making you uncomfortable so I'm going to head home," his expression changed to pure shock when the words came out of my mouth, "Uh no it's just,"

"Nick you don't need to be polite, there's no media, no reporters, no cameras to hide from. Just us, you and me. I just can't talk about any of this in front of blockbuster. I'll see you around." I turned and walked as quickly as possible to my car. I stared down at the steering wheel and tears fell from my eyes, frozen ones. Frozen tears. And every emotion inside of me felt that way. Just frozen, no hurt no pain, just this horrible frozen feeling. I didn't need it now. I wondered why Nick was there instead of home, though. I pulled out of the parking lot and saw him just standing there just looking around. He looked lost. I decided to think of something else. But every time I closed my eyes Nick was all I saw.Getting home the lump in my throat dropped to my stomach and churned. I stayed out a little longer than I had intend on. Lisa and Greg's voices came from the Red Room. Lisa stood up when I entered.

"Look who finally came home. you're just lucky Kevin is always late." I smiled and Greg got up to give me a hug and kiss.

"Hey Sam." I just smiled. "sorry Lisa." I grabbed His hand and we ran up to the top floor which was our movie theater. It had 8 beige recliner chairs that were oh so very comfy, and a love seat. And a huge mini-movie theater screen. So it was our own mini movie theater.

"So Sam," he grabbed my hand as we climbed the twisted stairs. "How was the world?" I smiled he always made everything seem important. "Well, it wasn't the world it was only parts of Europe, my first stop was Paris and it was beautiful I really loved it."

"Well, that's good." I opened the doors.

"What? You're staring, it's just a room." He laughed

"Right."

"Oh let me go get some munchies and the movies."

"What would a night of movies be without junk food and the movies." I smiled and crept downstairs. I went down the decks. Each level of the house has a deck. the first floor has a wrap around but the others just have back ones or semi-wrap around. I went down to the second level of the house which was where the kitchen was and saw Kevinwith his back facing me.I tried sliding in without him noticing me but failed in the process. "Sam. Hi,"

"Hi Sorry I was just trying to get my chips and stuff that's all."

"Yeah sure no problem, just don't break any hearts on the way OK?" his cold stare slapped me in the face. Lisa entered the room and Kevin winked. I climbed up on the counter where I had kept the chips.

"Sam, I thought you were staying upstairs."

"I am I just needed to get a few things, then I'll be out of your way," I stared at Kevin "and his," she looked at him but I leftbefore she could ask me anything.

"Boo!" Greg looked up at me.

"Hey."

"Got the movies" and lifted the bag. "and food," he smiled and I popped the disc into the DVD and sat down in the chair in the front. "Hey get your butt over here." I sat next to Greg on the love seat and we started watching the movie. I didn't really know what to say to him, but I enjoyed the company.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I slammed the fromt door I heard everyone outside laughing and the music playing. I didn't feel like talking to anyone. I left the doughnuts I had picked up on the kitchen counter. I climbed the steps two at a time. I slouched down into bed and stared and the ceiling. when Brian came into my room I kept staring, because that was the only thing I could do at this point. As I was staring Brian walked towards me and reached for Sam's sunglasses which were clenched bewtween my fingers. I didn't let them go for a second. I wanted the closest thing to her to be close to me. Brian tore them away from my grip.

"HEY!"

"Aha it speaks."

"Not funny give those back."

"And now we know what it wants!"

"Come on Bri." He pulled up a chair next to me.

"How in God's name did you get these? Climb in through her window while she was taking a shower?"

"She likes baths."

"Whatever, what happened?" "I bumped into her, litreally. And went to give her and saw her and I didn't know what to do. I had been imagining what it would be like, you know seeing her again. She saw that I was a little uneasy, she said so to. She said that I didn't need to be polite with her because there no reporters and cameras just us. And she said she didn't want to talk about it in front of Blockbuster. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what to do Brian." after babbling like an idiot, tears streamed down my face and I burried my head in my hands. I guess Brian had never thought I'd cry infront of him again after that time in his car.

"OK buddy. I'm going to get you something to drink." He put her sunglasses on my nightstand. After I felt like a baby.I got up to go to the bathroom. I splashed water on my face and made sure it looked like I wasn't crying and went downstairs. Brian had jsut closed the fridge.

"Oh, you OK?"

"Yeah. Let's go outside."

"You sure?"

"Yea." We went outside. The patio lights were on. Along the side and inside the pool was lit up. Everyone was still partying.

"Hey Nick, where'd you go?"

"Just had to pick a few things up for mom, A. C."
