Journey stretched lazily as she tried desperately to get out of bed. Twelve years old and she already had a job. What kind of life was that? She thought.
"Jayjay get your butt out of bed missy." Her mother said coming into her large bedroom.
Journey opened her eyes, "I'm up mother." She whined although she'd rather be sleeping. "What's going on today?" She asked as her mother raided her closet for an outfit that she would have to wear.
"Well first you have
to go and see the set and go over one scene with Christopher.
Then you have to watch the kids for me while I go get your next
script from your agent and lastly you have a nice banquet."
He mother smiled sweetly. It may have sounded like her mother
was cruel and heartless,
forcing her child to do acting. But she was nothing like that!
If Journey wanted to stop acting then her mother would say 'okay
what do you want to try next.' But it never came to that. Journey
loved what she did.
Her mother laid on her bed a nice white tank top and tight metallic green pants. "Look good?" She smiled.
Journey nodded. "Looks great thanks mom."
Her mother had a lot of stress to deal with so she didn't bother to argue with her. She was actually surprised her mother didn't already have a nervous breakdown. Her mother had five children to deal with. Journey's older sixteen-year-old brother named Trent, and her ten-year-old triplet siblings, Brett, Justin, and Rachel. And her mother had to deal with her, A twelve-year-old actress who has acted in three Romances, Two Sci-fis, four horror flicks, and one family flick a Disney movie that didn't go over so well.
Slowly she got up and got ready. About an hour later she and her mother were on the road, going towards the set of 'Final Fantasion' a new alien/horror film. With director Brandi Douglas. Journey and fellow actor Christopher Daniel had to go over a scene where Kelly played by Journey and brother Kyle played by Chris meet up with a disgustingly slimy dripping Alien.
After an hour of rehearsing the perfect scream, they left to drop off Journey and pick up Trent for his art classes, and so her mother could pick up her next script. Journey was left watching her baby brothers and sisters alone.
Journey wandered their large mansion like home. She had been an actress since she was eight years old. Journey had acted in twelve commercials and two sit coms, then her long list of movies. Journey went to her closet to find a cute outfit for the banquet. She didn't even know what the banquet was for, she just knew she had to look nice.
She picked up a pair of tight white jeans, a red tank top belly shirt that revealed her pierced belly button. How many mothers' do you know would let their twelve-year-old daughter get their belly button pierced?
The only reason she had it was for two of the movies she did where she had to play spunky wild like girls. Her mother and her agent both decided that it would have been better if she just got a real one instead of having the nagging feeling that the fake one might fall off.
Journey changed the ring to look like a red genie like ruby. She smiled pleased with her self. She picked up a hairbrush and combed out her chest length light brown hair, which was almost blonde. Journey yawned, she hadn't really realized how tired she actually was.
"Jayjay time to go
honey!" Her mother called from the garage. Journey looked
at her watch it was almost 7:30. She was on her way to the banquet.
Quickly she put on some high rope sandals and applied some lip-gloss
while she ran out into her mother's car.
Nick paced back and forth waiting for his mother to get his six-year-old
brother up from his nap. "Mom! Is he up yet."
His mother came down the
stairs with her other children following her. "Okay BJ I'm
trusting you."
Jane said to her twelve-year-old daughter. BJ smiled and nodded
them off.
"Bye." Nick called as he climbed into the old Ford his mother owned.
Journey wandered around the large banquet hall. She didn't see anyone that came close to her age. She felt strange and out of place as she walked towards the large table with the food on it. She picked up a glass and shuffled towards the punch. "Would you like some?"
Journey looked up into blue eyes of a perfect blonde hair boy. "Oh yes please." She could tell she was blushing but then again so was he.
"I'm Nick" Nick shook her hand,
"Journey, but call me Jayjay."
Nick smiled at this girl, she was probably a year or two younger than he, but she was pretty. He couldn't even think of anything to say to her.
"Well I'm just going to go over... there now," She said unsteadily.
"Wait! Do... do you want to dance?" Nick pointed towards a small dance floor.
Journey smiled. "I'd love too."
