~5 Days Later~
AJ walked into Nick's room. Lis hadn't left his side and the guys were starting to worry. He headed over to her and put his hand on her shoulder.
"Hi AJ."
"Hey Lis, you look tired. Why don't you go and lay down?"
"I'm fine really."
"No your not. You haven't left this room since they brought him in here. Now listen, I'm going to act like your older brother here and order you to go home and get some rest. You know Nick would want you to take care of yourself."
"AJ I can't go home don't you get it..." she said softly.
Suddenly AJ realized what she meant. "You can stay at Bri's, complete peace and quiet."
Lis looked at the man laying in the hospital bed and knew AJ was right, he'd be upset if she wasn't taking care of herself. "Ok, but if anything, ANYTHING happens..."
"You'll be called as soon as it happens. Now go before we gotta carry you out. We'll get Han to bring you some clothes."
She stood up and gave AJ a hug. "Thanks Bone, Jenn is lucky to have you."
"Tell her that." he said with a smile.
"I will." with one last glance at Nick she left the room.
Rok stood across the hall and watched Lis walk out of Nick's room. "Lisa! Hey."
"Hi Bri. Is it okay if I crash at your place?"
"Totally fine, mi casa, su casa. Let's get you rested up for when Frack comes back, we know how he can wear a person out."
Lis laughed softly. "Especially you and me huh Frick?"
"Darn right." He helped her into the elevator and pressed the button for the lobby. "You hungry? We can stop off and grab something if you want."
"No I'm ok. Maybe a hot shower though."
"If you want anything, just ask ok?"
"Thanks Rok." she leaned her head on his shoulder and sighed.
Kevin sat in the waiting room with D when AJ walked out of Nick's room.
They looked at him expectantly. "No change. I did manage to convince L to go home..well Bri's for a few hours to sleep."
"Good, because she looked hellish when I saw her this morning." Kev stated and D nodded his agreement..
AJ sunk down on a chair. "Jane should be here soon for her daily visit right?"
Kevin nodded. "Yeah, any minute now."
Brian passed his guest room door, he'd lent Lisa a pair of his pajamas and was on his way downstairs so he wouldn't disturb her. "B?" she called out, seeing him walk by.
"Yeah?" he asked, peeking into her room.
"Do you...he's going to be okay right?" she asked worriedly. Bri was the only one she could ask that, she kept herself strong in front of Nick's family and her own, and the guys, but Brian she could be honest with.
He looked at her and saw how scared she was. He sat across from her on the bed, watching her play with the ring on her hand. "I'm sure he will be. You know what the doctor told us, he's using his energy right now to heal himself and then he'll come back to all of us."
"You believe that Rok? Cuz lately I..."
He cut her off. "Lissy, you know Frack wouldn't leave your side. Remember the tough time we had keeping you two apart when we were on tour?"
Lis laughed. "I went to 47 out of the 52 concerts that tour."
"See! Now get some rest." Brian grinned as Tyke wandered in. "Look, Tyke will be here to watch over you." He kissed her forehead as she finally laid down in bed. "Now get some rest!!"
"Ok, thanks Frick."
Jane sat staring at her eldest son, he had bandages on his forehead and face but other than that and the various wires attaching him to the different machines surrounding the bed he looked all right. "Come on Nick, five days without you here is too much for all of us, you know that?" she rubbed his hand and sighed. She'd been there everyday with him for two hours since the accident, today she was pleasantly surprised to see the Boys had gotten Lis to get some rest. Jane and the other Carters loved her like one of their own, they'd been worried she'd end up in the hospital herself as a patient by the end of the week the way she was going. The door opened and Aaron walked in. "Mom, can I sit with him for a bit?"
"Of course, I'll go grab a coffee." she said, standing up. She'd all ready been in with him for over an hour.
"Dad and Leslie are in the cafeteria." Jane nodded and left and Aaron sat down. He looked at his older brother and shook his head. "Nick, enough pranks now. Get back here so I can whoop your butt at Mario Kart. Plus I kinda miss you bugging me." Aaron laughed softly then stopped, seeing Nick move his head. "Nick?" A small sound escaped his brother's lips and Aaron hit the nurses' call button and a nurse rushed in. "I think he's coming to." he informed her, moving away from the bed.
The nurse looked at the machines and at Nick. "You're right, ok I'm going to have to ask you to leave now so the doctor can examine him."
"Of course." Aaron said quickly and left the room, heading straight for the nearest pay phones.
