The Dream

By: Sara

I see him from across the crowded restaurant. He is absolutely gorgeous. I stare at him for a while. He is sitting with another man. They are talking and laughing about something. I love the way his eyes crinkle when he laughs. He has a nice smile too.

I turn back to my dinner companion. She is busy munching on her grilled chicken breast. She probably didn’t notice that I was staring at him. I decide not to mention it. Instead, I take a bite out of my steak. As I am chewing, I feel his eyes on me.

I look around the room. For no particular reason, I look in his direction. I notice that his dinner companion has stopped talking and has gone back to eating. Then, I look at him. He is looking at me. We lock eyes and he smiles at me. I love his smile, it’s so warm. I smile in return.

His eyes are so beautiful. They are almost the perfect shade of blue. He mouths the word, “Hi,” to me. I mouth, “Hello,” in return. We both try to wave each other over at the same time. I giggle a bit, but then I mouth, “I’ll meet you half way.” He nods.

We simultaneously get up from our chairs and begin to cross the crowded restaurant. He doesn’t take his eyes off me, and I can’t help but hold his gaze. His eyes are so blue. They are absolutely gorgeous.

We meet by an empty table in the middle of the restaurant. He smiles at me, and I return the gesture. He is even more gorgeous close up.

“Hi,” I say shyly.

“Hi,” he echoes. His voice is so sweet. I have heard it before, though. “I’m Brian,” he says, but I already knew that. He is Brian Thomas Littrell, my favorite Backstreet Boy. I simply nod, though. I don’t want to scare him or make him think that I am just some crazed fan.

“I’m Sara,” I say shyly. I lower my head and begin to fidget with my fingers. He takes his hand, puts it under my chin, and raises my eyes to his. I stand there for a moment, staring into his eyes. I lose myself in the warm ocean of his clear blue eyes. I feel an intense attraction to him. I wonder if he feels it too.

Is there anyone else in the room? If there is, I don’t see them. Is time passing? If it is, I can’t feel it. I am numb to everything in the world except him.

Suddenly, without a word, he envelops me in his arms. He is gentle and warm. His touch is soft. I wrap my arms around his neck. He smiles warmly at me, and I smile back. He closes his eyes, and I close mine. We lean in for the kiss...our lips touch. His lips are soft and sweet. The heat rose between our bodies and all that could be heard was the sound of our hearts beating louder and louder. His hands brush down my back and I run my hands intensely through his hair. He pulls me in a little closer as he kisses me even harder and deeper than before. The kiss went on a few more seconds before...

There is a deafening alarm coming from outside the restaurant. I keep my eyes closed tightly and I hold onto him for dear life. Suddenly he is gone. I open my eyes and look around. I see my alarm clock. It was all a dream. A very wonderful dream...
