Golden Memories

By: Cindy
Backstreet Utopia

"Brian, honey, I think we are getting too old for this! said Cindy Brian Littrell's wife of 50 years. Their golden anniversary party was that night.
"I know, but I want to see if I still have my zip, as I did when I was younger." Brian said as he held the basketball in his hands.
Brian and Cindy had gone on the basketball courts.
Brian, who now is 79 years old wanted to prove to Cindy who was 69 years of age that he could still shoot a basket. Sure he was 79 years old, but being athletic all of his life, his body was still in real good shape for being almost 80 years old.
"Can you believe we have been together 50 years to this day?" Cindy said as she watched Brian throw the basketball and it fly into the hoop. "I remember when we first met."
"Yes, I was apart of the Backstreet Boys then." Brian sighed."That was a long time ago! I was only what, 28?
"Hey, I was 18 when we met! I was still a baby." Cindy replied.
"I remember when I first saw you. I was sitting in that restaurant called Riley's. The guys and I were celebrating our 5th golden record. You were a waitress there. When I first saw you, you took my breath away."
"I remember when I saw you, I thought you were really cute, but short. After awhile I got used to the idea I was two inches taller than you. I figured if it didn't bother you, it doesn't bother me."
"Yes, height did bother me, but after awhile I started to really love you, so I overlooked it. You were so beautiful, I liked how you were tall."
"Brian, you always know how to make me blush." Cindy said as she started to turn a crimson red.
Brian smiled. "Do you remember our first date?"
"How could I forget, we both made fools out of ourselves. I dumped the soda all over you, and you dumped the icecream all over me." Cindy said with a laugh.
"We were both so nervous." Brian said with laughter in his voice.
"Not as nervous as on our wedding day! I felt like I was going to puke. I was so scared, but once I looked into your eyes, I knew I was going to be ok." Cindy said reminiscing.
"That was the best day of my life." Brian said smiling at Cindy.
"Then there were the days that each of our children were born, Annica, Samantha and Scott. They were so small! They each looked like a miniature you. The dark blond hair with the slight curl."
As they were talking, a car pulled up to the driveway. Guests were starting to arrive for the party that night.
Out of the car popped out AJ, and his wife. "Hi AJ, how are you and Bobbie doing?" Brian asked his friend.
Cindy walked up to Bobbie and gave her a hug. "I haven't seen you forever!" Cindy said to her good friend. All the wives of each of the guys in the Backstreet Boys were close friends. They became close when they had to be there for each other when the guys went on tour. After the guys broke up the group to live life at home instead of on the tour bus, the girls were still close, as well as the guys.
Next to show up was Erin and Kevin, then Nick and Gina. After a short time Howie and Christine came, as well as Brian and Cindy's children and grandchildren.
The party had been going great. For their wedding anniversary, Brian wrote Cindy a song telling her how much he loved her and how he was glad she married him. Howie, Brian, Nick, Kevin, and AJ all sang it for her. That was the first time in 30 years that they had sung together in a group.
"Grandma, Grandpa, I also have a gift for you." said Amanda, Brian and Cindy's twenty year old grandchild. Everyone was now all gathered in the front room talking to one another.
Cindy and Brian looked at their grandchild with big eyes.
"I'm pregnant, you two will be great-grandparents." Brian and Cindy jump up with laughter, and hugged Amanda.
"Great-grandparents!?" Brian asked surprised. "I've always dreamed of this!"
Brian hugged Cindy tight. "We're great-grandparents!"
"We couldn't be luckier." Cindy told Brian. "We have great friends." Cindy said as she pointed to the Backstreet Boys and their wives. "We have wonderful children and grandchildren, with a great-grandchild coming on its way."
"I feel so lucky! I have been married to your for 50 years!" Brian said as he hugged Cindy again.
"My life feels so complete." Cindy told Brian.
"I hope you know that I loved you the past 50 years, and wouldn't give that up for anything." Brian said kissing Cindy.
"I love you" Cindy said staring into Brian's eyes.
"I love you too, baby."
