Kristy strolled through the convention center after finishing her last interview of the day. She had a smile on her lips, a twinkle in her eyes, and a bounce in her step. She almost laughed at herself; she was acting like a love-struck teenager. "But, why not?" She thought. "I have a great job, and wonderful friends. I'm in Orlando for a week and I get to see Kevin in less than six hours! Life is good!" Last night, after they'd exchanged numbers, they'd made plans for the group to meet for dinner before going out to the boardwalk clubs. She couldn't wait.

"Thanks for your help on this. I'm a kinda nervous that things might get a little sticky, but I guess it's a chance I'm gonna to have to take. ... Ya, I hope so too!" Kevin hung up the phone. "Everything's falling into place." He only hoped Kristy wasn't one to hold grudges.

"Kristy!" Heather called out to her friend across the lobby of the convention center. "I just came back from the hotel and Kevin called while I was there." Kristy's eyes lit up and her ever-present smile broadened.
"What did he have to say?" Kristy was so looking forward to seeing him again that night, she was having trouble thinking about anything else.
"Well," Heather stalled. She hated doing this to her friend, but she knew Kristy would forgive her later. "There's been a slight change of plans."
Kristy tried to hide her disappointment. "What's up?"
"Kevin said to tell you that he's sorry, something came up, but we'll all still meet up at the piano bar around 8 or 9, then go to the dance club after that." Heather watched her friend put up a cheerful front. "So, since you have some free time now, why don't you go back to the hotel and rest for a while... see if you can get in for a massage like we were talking about."
"Yeah, that's actually not a bad idea," Kristy mumbled as she headed out the door to catch the waiting shuttle back to their hotel.
"Sorry Sweetie," Heather thought. "But you'll thank me for this in the long run."

Kristy returned from her massage and manicure and collapsed on the bed, careful not to bump her nails. She was feeling better. Being pampered always helped. "Besides," she thought to herself, "Since when do I let some guy determine my mood? I'm in Disney World and I'm certainly not going to let anyone ruin my trip."
She let her eyes drift shut as the phone rang and someone knocked at the door. "What timing," she mumbled. "Just a minute!" She shouted towards the door as she awkwardly grabbed the phone. "Hello, can you hold a sec? Someone's at the door." Without waiting for an answer, Kristy set the receiver down and went for the door. She glanced through the peep hole and recognized the hotel uniform. She opened the door to a young man holding a large bouquet of flowers.
"These are for a 'Dr. Kristy Butler?'," the young man half-stated, half-asked as he assessed Kristy, trying to determine if the pretty young woman standing before him in shorts and a T-shirt was doctor material.
"Thank you. If you'll hold on a minute, my purse is by the bed..." Kristy took the flowers, inhaling deeply as she did.
"No need, miss, errr, ma'am... it's been taken care of. Enjoy!"
Kristy took the incredible bouquet and headed back to get the phone. "I'm back. Sorry about that," Kristy said as she propped the receiver between her ear and shoulder.
"Who was at the door?" Jessica asked over the phone.
"A hotel guy, delivering flowers." Kristy looked for a card, finally seeing it.
"Flowers! Who're they for? And from?" She had her suspicions, but asked anyway.
"For me, and I'm trying to open the card without messing up my nail polish to see who're they're from." She grabbed a hairpin from the counter and broke the envelope's seal. "So what's up?"
"I just ran into Heather and she told me about the change in plans for tonight. What's the card say?"
Kristy laughed, "I'm just opening it now. It says 'I'll make it up to you. Kevin'." Although she wasn't one to hold grudges, she thought it would probably be impossible to stay mad at Kevin even if she'd wanted to.
"Awww. Are you going to let him off that easily?" Jessica teased, knowing what the answer to that would be.
"Probably," Kristy giggled. "Think I should make him squirm a little?"
"Like you'd actually do it," Jessica laughed. "All he'd have to do is look at you with those intense eyes and say something it that deep, sexy voice and you'd melt before he even walked through the door... not that anyone would blame you! So, I have an idea for tonight, since we have some time before we have to be anywhere," Jessica continued. "Why don't we get dressed up and have a nice dinner, just us girls, then meet the guys at the piano bar like planned?"
"Sounds good to me. Should I make reservations somewhere?" Kristy set the flowers on the desk and stood back to admire them.
"Nah, I'll take care of it," Jessica said. "Heather and I are already in pretty nice clothes, so why don't we meet you in the lounge at the hotel around 5?"
"Cool. See ya then."
