Kevin had Kristy write down the lyrics for their song, so they could sing it together as a duet. "I was kinda tossing around some ideas for another verse, maybe before the bridge?" Kristy suggested.
"If they're anything like your other lyrics, I'm sure they'll be wonderful. What did you have in mind?" The more and more Kevin heard and thought about the lyrics she'd written, the more he realized there was a higher power involved in their being together. (Thank you God. Thank you for bringing Kristy into my life.)
"Something along the lines of fairy tales or princes and princesses..." Kristy smiled, "Or maybe wishing wells and castles?"
"Any reason in particular," Kevin teased.
Kristy giggled, "Let's just say I was inspired last night."
Kevin smiled suggestively, "Yeah, last night was pretty inspirational! So was this afternoon!" He kissed her lips softly.
They worked together, and quickly came up with two additional verses that seemed to document their relationship.
"So let's try it with the first two verses before the chorus, then the two new verses," Kevin suggested. "And I really like your idea of a key change in between verses."
"Thanks. I guess it's a good thing we don't have the same range then, huh?" Kristy giggled.
"Oh, you mean like this?" Kevin asked in falsetto, mimicking Kristy's beautiful soprano. Kevin started playing and the two alternated verses, harmonizing on the chorus.
(Kevin) "You and I, that's how our story starts,

Kevin had dropped Kristy back off at her hotel to get ready for their evening out at the dance clubs. He was now back at his house with Brian, waiting for AJ. Kevin wore tailored tan slacks and a short-sleeved cream sweater that showed off his muscular physique, while Brian wore baggy khaki cargo pants with a light-blue ski sweater that perfectly matched the color of his eyes. "You're gonna meet her in less than an hour... if AJ ever gets here, that is... and then you'll be able to see for yourself," Kevin paced around the living room, anxious to get back to Kristy. Brian was giving him the 20-questions routine about Kristy. Since he knew words couldn't do her justice, he decided to let her kindness, beauty and intelligence speak for themselves when the guys met her in person.
"Why are you avoiding my questions? Sounds a little suspicious to me." Brian was dying to meet this girl, and while Kevin was obviously crazy about her, love could be blind. Kevin was usually the one that watched out for all the other guys, but now Brian thought it was their turn to watch out for him.
"I'm not avoiding your questions," Kevin sighed. "But knowing AJ, he'll have a zillion questions too, and if I'm going to have to be interrogated, I'd rather it just be once."
"So where is she?" AJ yelled as he came through the front door. AJ was wearing black leather pants and a bright red and yellow shirt that hugged his lean, muscular frame. His spiky hair was tipped with platinum blond highlights, and of course, he wore one of his many pairs of trademark sunglasses.
"Listen Bone," Kevin frowned, "Don't go pullin' that tough-guy act tonight. I know Kristy would be able handle it, but I want everyone to get along... OK?"
Brian shot AJ a look that said, "Don't pull any punches." "So what's the plan?"
"We're going to meet Kristy and her friends in front of the small stage near the disco place," Kevin explained as he grabbed his keys. "Let's go."

"So... what d'ya think?" Jessica stepped out of the bathroom and struck a pose.
Kristy and Heather admired her creation. She wore neon-blue vinyl pants with a short, slinky black shirt, exposing her belly-button ring. Her waist-long curly hair was loose except for a small clip at her temple. "I like. But are you gonna be able to dance in those platforms?" Heather asked. Jessica was wearing three inch wedges that she liked because they helped correct her diminutive stature.
"Not everyone is blessed with long legs." Heather and Kristy were both 5'7" and took it for granted. "Thank God, someone invented heels!" she giggled. "Is it too much?" she asked, referring to her outfit again.
"For me? Yes. For you? It's perfect!" Kristy grinned at her flashy friend. While Jess was always more likely to be on the cutting edge of fashion, Kristy liked combining a few trendy pieces with the classics. Her outfit tonight reflected her style perfectly. She wore a slim-fitting, knee-length black skirt and light-pink button-down cardigan. She'd left the sweater open except for the three middle buttons, revealing a little cleavage and a glimpse of her tan, trim abdomen. She wore a pair of open-toed mule heels, her long legs bare, a hint of thigh exposed by the skirt's side slit when she walked.
Heather still hadn't decided on what to wear. "Skirt or pants?" She held two outfits up for her friends to view.
"Those pants." Jessica pointed to the black slacks she held in one hand.
"With that top," Kristy said, nodding to the green velour tee she held in her other.
"Thanks, guys! What would I ever do without you?" she asked as she jumped into the bathroom.
"We don't want to know!" Jessica giggled as there was a knock on the door. "Coming!" She opened the door to let Chris and Mike in.
"Hey hotty!" Chris said, grabbing Jessica and dipping her. He looked up and let out a low wolf-whistle as Kristy walked into the sitting room of their suite. "Hubba, hubba!"
"Chris!" Jessica squealed, still dangling near the ground in the prolonged dip.
"Oops, sorry." Chris apologized with a chuckle, standing her upright.
Mike gave his approval as Heather emerged. "Hello! Those poor Backstreet Boys aren't gonna know what hit 'em."
"Well then, let's not keep them waiting!" Kristy giggled as they headed out the door.
