"Baby, please don't go!! Please!!" Nick pleaded his 18 year old girlfriend, Christina. She visited her boyfriend, Nick in Florida, for 3 weeks and now she had to go home. They lived pretty far from each other, but they always made it work. They had been together for 3 years.
"Nick, nothing's gonna happen! I promise!" Christina said looking in Nick's beautiful blue eyes. "Don't worry, baby!"
"But, I have this feeling that something bad's gonna happen. And now you're going to fly home. I don't wanna lose you, Chris!" Nick said looking sad.
"Oh, baby… who said you're gonna lose me?" Christina said still looking into his blue eyes and gave him a hug.
"Me! I just know something will happen." Nick broke the hug and looked at her seriously.
"Nicky… You know I love you, and I wouldn't just leave you like that, OK? So we won't talk about this anymore. We have 5 hours before I'm going home. We can do something fun, right?" She smiled and kissed him.
"Ok, what shall we do?" He asked and kissed her back.
"Hmm… maybe we should just watch a movie. What do you think?"
"Sure."
They sat down and watched a movie. When it was time for Christina to go to the airport, Nick started again.
"No, I don't want you to leave," Nick said.
"But Nick. I have to. My flight is leaving soon. I have to hurry, baby!" She said a little annoyed.
"You can't. I have a really bad feeling. I just don't think you should go. Take another flight tomorrow."
"Nick, I can't. I going to school tomorrow." She said and walked to the front door. "I'll see you soon. I'll call when I get home, Ok? And Nick please stop. You're making me sad."
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to. But be careful, ok?" Nick said and walked her to her car.
"Of course. I'm always careful. I promise nothing's gonna happen to me. Remember, I promise." She said getting in the car. "Bye, Nicky. I love you!"
"I love you too, Chris!" Nick said with tears in his eyes, while Christina drove away.
Nick went back in the house with the bad feeling. He didn't know what was gonna happen, but something would. He sat down on the couch and watched some TV. After a while he fell asleep.
3 hours later the doorbell rang. Nick woke up and answered the door. It was Brian, his best friend.
"Hey, man!" Brian said when he saw Nick in the doorway. "Did I wake you up? You look very tired"
"Yeah, I fell asleep just after Chris left." They walked in the living room, where the TV was on.
Nick sat down. "Brian, do you mind go get something to drink in the kitchen?"
"No, what do ya want?" Brian asked on his way.
"Just a coke or something" Nick said and looked at the TV. He sat there and stared for a minute. "Oh my God! Brian get in here!"
"What? What's wrong?" Brian ran to the living room.
"Look at the news. A plane from Orlando to California just crashed. Chris was on a plane to California. Oh my God. What if it was her plane? Oh no! I said something bad was gonna happen, but she just wouldn't listen. Man, Brian what do I do? I can't live without her!" Nick said whit tears falling from his eyes.
Nick couldn't believe it. His Chris, the love of his life, was dead. He was terrified.
"Oh, Nick. I'm so sorry!" Brian said while he held Nick, who was crying and crying. The news reporter said what flight it was, and Nick said it was Christina's flight. He just couldn't take it.
"Why don't they say if there's any survivors? I need to know that she's alive. Brian, I can't live without her. I can't! She's my life. Oh God!!! Nick cried.
"Nick, calm down. I'm sure she isn't dead. I'll call the airport and ask them, OK?" Brian said and picked up the phone.
Nick was just sitting there. He didn't know what to believe or do. He just sat there and cried and cried.
"Nick, are you alright in there?" Brian called from the kitchen. "They put me on hold. They won't tell me anything, but don't worry!"
Nick didn't hear him. He didn't hear anything. How could he, when the girl he loved more than life was dead. Everytime he thought about it he just cried even more.
After a while Brian came into the living room.
"Hey, man. I'm sorry! They haven't found any survivors yet. And they don't think they'll find any. I'm so sorry, Nick!"
Nick didn't say a thing. He just sat there. He had stopped crying. He just stared at nothing.
"Nick! Man, say something!" Brian tried, but Nick didn't. He laid Nick down on the couch.
Brian didn't know what to do. He was too scared of what would happen to Nick, instead of crying over Christina. He knew that Nick couldn't live without her. He was afraid he'd do something bad to himself.
Nick had fallen asleep. The doorbell rang. Brian opened it. Outside was, Kevin, Brian's cousin. "Hey, B! What's up?" Kevin noticed the look on Brian's face. "What's wrong?"
"It's Chris! Her plane crashed." Brian broke down in tears. He couldn't handle it anymore.
"Oh my God, is she Ok?"
"No, no one survived." Brian said crying.
"Oh no. Where's Nick? Is he OK?" Kevin was really concerned now.
"No, he's not. He's asleep now. He can't handle it. I'm afraid he might do something bad to himself."
Kevin and Brian talked for awhile and Nick woke up. "Where is she? She's alive! I saw her!" Nick said getting up.
"No, Nick. You didn't see her. Nick, she's dead" Kevin said.
"Yes, I did see her. She can't be dead. She CAN'T!!!" Nick cried again!
"Hello. Are you guys deaf or something!" The 3 guys looked up. They heard a girls voice. They saw her. She was standing not far from them. It was Christina.
"Do you guys see that, or is it just me" Brian asked.
"Why are you talking so weird. Why are you crying, baby!" Christina took Nick's hand. Nick looked up and took her in his arms.
"Thank God you're alive! I thought I lost you! Why are you here? You were supposed to be home now."
"You guys are really weird. You're talking crazy! I didn't catch my flight. I was late, so I thought I'd do some shopping!" Christina was really confused.
"No, Chris. It's all really simple. That plane you were supposed to be on, it crashed, and there were no survivors. We thought you were dead." Brian explained.
"Oh my goodness. I was this close to be dead?" Christina looked at Nick. "You made me late, Nicky. You saved my life!"
"I told you something bad was gonna happen, Chris" Nick smiled still hugging her.
"Yeah, and you remember what I said? I said, I promise that nothing would happen to me. And nothing did. I promised." She smiled.
The end
