~Epilogue~
Nick walked into the hospital room still in his scrubs. "Is there a mommy here?" he asked, seeing Lis sitting up in bed.
"There is, hey daddy." she smiled as he sat next to her, their daughter in his arms. "How did you get her?" Lis asked moving the blanket back so she could see their daughter.
"I charmed a few nurses." he replied with his trademark grin.
"I bet you did." Lis laughed as he sat down beside her.
He rested his head on her shoulder, "Not a bad way to spend our eight month anniversary huh?" he whispered.
"It's almost perfect." she whispered, turning to kiss him. She smiled thinking back to eight months ago
~Flashback~
AJ walked over to Nick and Lis who were just smiling at each other. "It would be a shame to waste all of this." he said, motioning to the flowers.
Nick held Lis' hand. "Yeah but what can we do?"
Kevin coughed. "I uh pulled some strings..." he said handing them a marriage license.
"You guys want us to get married?" Lis asked, looking at all their friends.
"Yes!" they yelled in unison.
Nick laughed and turned to Lis. "I think we better give them what they want or they could turn on us."
She bit her lip. "But Bob and Jane and..."
"Are right here." Jane said, walking up behind them. "BJ called and told us what everyone was planning...and here we are."
"So..." Nick trailed off, "just need the uh some rings..."
AC handed Nick a box. "Here, from all of us to you guys...E picked them out."
Lis smiled at E. "Well Nicky..."
"Come on, let's make you a Carter." he said pulling her back to the altar. For the first time he realized the crowd on the grooms side was most of his friends. He felt someone pat him on the back and he turned to see B.
Bri smiled. "Told you she was always yours. Now turn around and marry her!!"
Nick laughed. "Don't have to tell me twice."
~End flashback~
The door opened and Michael trotted in Shan and Bri behind them. "Sorry guys, he saw Nick and took off running. Somehow he went right by Jane." B explained picking Michael up.
"S'ok B." Nick reassured his pal, pulling away from Lis.
"Sorry we had to steal you two away from your second honeymoon." Lis said glancing up.
"Hey it's not every day I'm a godmother." Shan said smiling.
Nick took his son from Brian, "There's your sister little man. That's Elizabeth."
Michael looked down at the baby in his mother's arms. "She tiny."
Lis laughed. "Yeah she is."
Bri and Shan disappeared out the door, leaving the Carters alone. Nick resumed his spot beside Lis and set Michael on his lap. "I always knew it would work out like this."
"Michael close your eyes." Lis said as she moved Elizabeth in her arms and smiled as Michael shut his eyes. She hit Nick playfully in the arm. "Then why did you look so scared huh?"
Nick laughed. "I was married to you before, I knew what I was getting into."
"Funny Nicky...very funny." she said shaking her head.
"I thought so." he whispered, leaning over to kiss her.
Shan looked at Brian who was smiling. "What are you smiling about?" she asked her husband.
He shrugged. "Like Nick said, I knew it would all work out like this."
She raised an eyebrow. "Oh you did huh?"
Brian nodded. "Yeah."
"Anything else you knew would happen?"
"No why?"
She smirked. "If you knew everything I thought maybe you'd know you were going to be a daddy." Shan said as she turned and started down the hallway.
He froze and stared after her. "A daddy?" he said, running after her.
