I was sitting on my couch in my apartment, nibbling on some Oreos and milk. I was flipping through the channels on the TV aimlessly since absolutely nothing was on. Today was my day off work and I was waiting for my pals to come over to go on a little shopping spree. I was about to go into the kitchen to pour another glass of milk when I head AJ’s sweet voice saunter through the speakers. I stopped eating and stared at the TV. The Backstreet Boys were on MTV News!!!! I couldn’t believe it! I hadn’t exactly heard from any of them for quite a while, about a month and a half to be exactly. It was June now, so I was out of school and ready to see them!! AJ used to write and call practically everyday and mail me presents and send me flowers, but then he called every other day, then every other week, and now just not at all. I still loved him of course, but long distance relationships are very difficult and none of us knew if we’d see the guys again. I returned my focus to the television.
“Why yes, we do have girlfriends,” Brian’s voice declared cheerfully. I felt my stomach do a flip and started to get upset.
“In fact, we’re going to see them very, very soon,” AJ said smuggly.
“Oh really? So, who are these girlfriends of yours?” the female reporter questioned, with a twinge of jealously in her tone.
“Actually, we met them a few months ago on vacation. We won’t give out their names for privacy, of course, but we plan on going to see them again very, very soon,” Nick promised, blushing slightly and running his hand throuh his hair, ruffling it.
“Well, thank you very much for the interview and we can’t wait until the new album comes out,” the reported continued, shaking their hands.
I couldn’t believe it! They were talking about us!!! They were really coming to see us again!!! I was sooo excited, I had to call my very best friend, Gail and tell her the good news.

“Are ya serious girl?” I questioned, smiling at the prospect of Nick coming to see me. Chill bumps ran down my spine as I thought of how close Nick would hold me once again. I couldn’t wait!!!
“Yeah, oooh…hold on, I’m getting a beep, ok?” Kelly broke into my thoughts.
“Oh yeah, sure…” I said, not really paying attention.
I reached into my closet and pulled out my scrapbook that I had made of all the pix and things that Nick had mailed me from their tour. I was looking through them and thinking how wonderful it would be to see them again when Kelly got back on.
“Gail??” she questioned.
“Yep, I’m here. What’s up?” I said looking at this really sweet picture of Nick holding his puppy.
“AJ just called me from the MTV studios. He said that the guys are taking the firtst flight from New York here to see us!!!” she said ecstatic.
“Aaah…I’m sooo happy!! I can’t wait to see them again!” I yelled into the phone.
“I know, me either. Well, I’m gonna go so that I can finish getting ready. I’ll pick ya up in about an hour to go shopping, k?” she told me.
“Sure, see ya,” I stated, tossing my cordless phone onto my bed and proceeding to get dressed.

I decided to meet Kelly, Gail, Vic, and Theresa at the mall. I had to stop by and pick up Vic first, though.
I pulled into her driveway to see her already waiting outside for me. She ran up to the car and jumped in.
“Whoa! You seem excited!!!” I looked at her a bit surprised.
“Well, Kelly just called me and told me that AJ called her and said the guys were taking the first flight out of NY to come see us!!! Can you believe it?!” she said practically screaming.
I was sooo stunned. “Wow! That’s great! I can’t wait to see Brian again!! I hope he’ll call,” I commented, turning to back out of the driveway.
“Yeah, I haven’t heard from Kev in like…wow, like maybe a month or so,” Vic said.
“Oh I know. I was starting to think they forgot about us!” I laughed slightly.
“Yup, I know. Hey, are Kel, Gail, and Theresa meeting us at the mall?”
“Yeah, they are. Speaking of which, we were supposed to be there 15 minutes ago!” I exclaimed, speeding down the highway.

Claudi and I raced into the mall and found Kelly, Gail, and Theresa all waiting for us at the food court.
“We’re sooo sorry that we’re late,” I said, exasperated.
“Oh hmm?? It’s ok, we didn’t even notice,” Theresa said, taking a sip of her drink.
“You guys hungry or anything?” Kelly asked us, looking around at the places to eat.
“Nah…not really. I’m too excited to be hungy!” I said, giggling a bit.
All of my friends nodded in unison as we walked off to find some new outfits for our boys.
“Oooh, yes, GAP! My favorite store!” Kelly exclaimed, tugging me by the arm into the store as the rest of our friends followed.
We all picked out something and went into the dressing room to try it on.
Kelly decided on some capri pants, and a white button up, quarter length sleeved shirt with some black platform sandals. Gail bought a pair of khakis and a black v-neck shirt to wear with it. Claudi bought a pair of cutoffs and a white spaghetti strap tank top with flowers sewed into it. Theresa bought some short jean overalls with an orange tank top to go under it. As for me, I bought a lavender sun dress and some white sandals to go with it.
We were all set to meet our boys again and I couldn’t wait!

My friends and I all went our separate ways after we left the mall. The guys would probably be arriving sometime in the morning, so I really had to do some major cleaning on my apartment.
I parked my car and walked over to check my mailbox. I flipped through it and saw bills, as usual. Oh good…my wedding dress catalog had come. I had been waiting for it to come so that I could start picking out stuff for the wedding and now that Howie was going to be coming, he could help.
I unlocked the door and tossed my keys onto the counter and pressed the play button on my answering machine.
“Hey baby. It’s me,” Howie’s sweet voice called through the machine. “I just wanted to let you know that we booked a flight outta here to come see you! We should arrive sometime tommow morning. I’ll call you when I get into town. I love you very, very much and I’ll see ya soon.” The message ended. I was sitting at the dinner tabe smiling while this image of Howie popped into my head. I couldn’t wait to see him!
