All of my friends gasped and stared at me in amazement.
“Ah! Girl, that is a diamond engagement ring! Isn’t it?!” Theresa yelled.
I just blushed a smiled at them.
“It is!!!” they all screamed, jumping up to hug me.
“Alright, come on, give us the details!” Theresa exclaimed as they all settled in to hear about AJ’s proposal to me.
My four best friends were all sitting in Theresa’s living room staring at me with anticipation.
“Well-“ I began, but was interrupted.
“You’re pregnant, aren’t you?!” Gail exclaimed.
“No! Of course not!” I yelled, frowning.
“Sorry, it’s just well, you know AJ…” she said.
“Yeah, I do, but we haven’t done anything. We’re getting married because we love each other, not because I’m pregnant,” I said.
“So you are??” Gail questioned.
“No, no, no! I’m not pregnant! Geez! Can I get on with my story now?” I asked.
“Yeah, yeah. Go on!” Vic said, staring at me intently.
“Well, the other night right before wedding rehearsals, remember when we were late because AJ got us lost?” I asked.
They all remembered, so I continued.
“I had told him that if we were lost, I’d want to be lost with him and I meant that. Apparently, that really sent a message to him because a few minutes later he pulled off the road into an open field. I thought he’d lost him mind or was just lost! We both got out of the car and the sight was beautiful. There was a lake with the reflection of the stars and moon in it. It was simply gorgeous!” I said, looking at my four best friend who remainded silent waiting patiently for the res of my story.
“I was standing there in the moonlight with the breeze gently blowing through my ahir whne AJ walked over to me, took my hand, and got down on one knee to propose,” I continued.
“Awww!” my friends said in unison.
“So, that’s the story,” I concluded.
“That was sooo sweet!” Theresa gushed.
“Yeah, I couldn’t believe it! I realize now how much I really do love him and that I want to spend the rest of my life with him, “ I confessed.
“Let me see that big ‘ol rock on your finger,” Vic said, l lifting my hand up for everyone to see.
They all oooohed and ahhhhed over it.
“Okay, okay…let’s focus on the bride at hand,” I smiled, turning my attention to Theresa.

Theresa opened all of her presents from us. No surprise it was all lingerie for her honeymoon.
“Thank you all sooo much! I know Howie will probably like these presents better than I will!” she laughed.
We all laughed when all of a sudden Theresa let out a gasp. We all looked at her in shock.
“What is it?” I asked.
“I just got this brilliant beyond brilliant idea!” she exclaimed, her mouth open wide.
“Well, what is it?” I asked again, really curious now.
“We could have a double wedding!!!” she screamed out.
“Seriously?! No we couldn’t. AJ and I couldn’t get ready by tomorrow. That’s ridiculous!” Kelly replied.
“What if we postponed the wedding?” Theresa suggested.
“No don’t do that. That will ruin all of your and Howie’s plans. I knew I shouldn’t have told you guys about the engagement…” Kelly shook her head.
“Do the guys know about it?” I asked.
“Yeah, they do. AJ told them all like last night or something,” Kelly answered.
“Well then-“Theresa began, but was cut off by the ringing of the phone.
“Hello?” she answered sweetly, putting it on speaker phone.
“Hey sweetheart. What are you up to?” Howie said on the other end.
“Just talking to Kel about her engagement to AJ,” she said, venturing to see what Howie had to say.
“Really?! What a coincidence…us too,” he said.
“Oh, not having fun with the stripper?!” she teased.
“Nah…no stripper. Actually, I wanted to talk to you about something,” he commented.
“Yeah, me too,” she replied.
“Well, you first then,” he said.
“No, you. Shoot!” Theresa said, as we all wondered what it was.
“How would you feel about a double wedding?” he blurted out.
“Excuse me?” was all Theresa could manage to say.
“Bad idea, huh? I’m sorry…nevermind,” he said with disappointment.
“No, it’s a great idea! That’s what I was going to talk to you about!” she replied.
So it was settled that the double wedding would be the following Saturday.

Brian and I decided to fly to Kentucky for a day or two to see his family before wedding rehearsals started.
“Are you sure they’ll like me?” I asked nervously smoothing out my sky blue sun dress.
“Yes, please don’t worry,” he pleaded, holding my hand.
“Bri, is that them?” I questioned seeing a family waving in our direction.
“Yeah! Come on!” he yelled with excitement, tugging me toward them.
“Brian!” his mother yelled embracing him.
“Hey mom, dad, Harold!” he smiled.
“My, my who’s this beautiful young lady?” his mom questioned, looking me over, smiling.
“Everyone this is my girlfriend, Claudi,” he said pulling me forward. “Claudi, this is my dad, my mom, and my brother, Harold,” he introduced us while I smiled at each other them.
“It’s nice to finally meet all of you. Brian talks about you all the time,” I said.
“He talks about you all the time, too. He didn’t talk about anything else those months that you two were apart,” his mom informed me.
We all went out to eat dinner that night and when we got home, Brian’s mom helped me get settled into their spare bedroom. Brian gave me the grand tour of his lovely home and then we went into the den to watch “Ace Venture: When Nature Calls” with the rest of his family.

Monday finally came around and we had our first rehearsal for the double wedding. Brian and Claudi had returned from their short, but fun trip to see Brian’s family in Kentucky.
“I can’t believe this is actually happening!” Kevin said as we walked up the stairs to the church.
“Oh, I know. Me either. It’s so weird! But, I’m really happy for all of them. I think they’ll be happy together,” I said as we walked in to find everyone talking inside.
Kevin agreed and led me down the aisle to the rest of the group.
“Hey!” I said to eveyone.
“Yo Vic! ‘Sup babe?” AJ called, from where he and Kelly were standing.
I laughed when I saw Kelly nudge him in the shoulder and shoot him a dirty look. I said hello back to him when I noticed him whispering something in Kelly’s ear and then leanign down to kiss her. They were so adorable together.
“Okay…you two will be standing here,” the wedding coordinator told me and Kevin, pointing in the direction of our destination. We ran through the procedure several times until everyone was tired and went home.

After a week of grueling rehearsals and all night worrying about the wedding, it was finally the night before the big day and we were throwing Kelly and AJ a bachelorette/bachelor’s party. The guys took care of AJ’s party and we were handling Kelly’s.
“You know what?” I said to my friends.
“What?” Vic asked.
“I bet they’re hiring a stripper for AJ!” I laughed.
“Oh, I’m sure they are!” Kelly said in agreement, not the least bit surprised.
“They better not be! Nick’s too young to be exposed to such things!” Gail exclaimed, acting like a protective mother. We all laughed at her comment and then proceeded with the party.
Kelly unwrapped all of her presents from us.
“Ooooh!” we all said as she opened a present and held it up for us to see.
“AJ’s gonna have a heart attack if I wear this!” she laughed.
“No…you need to wear that bikini he got you for our trip to the Bahamas!” I suggested, laughing.
“Yeah…he’d like that!” she smiled.
We did the girly thing and gave each other facials and make-overs. Then we got out some CDs and played karoke. The last thing we did before going to sleep was watch a bunch of chick flicks and cried our eyes out. Finally, we went to sleep to get our beauty rest for the big day!
