Time Long Past-Chapter 16

By: Panda Angel

*Kelly*

After the wedding, I changed into my reception dress. It was a long white, silk dress with a tiny white jacket, beaded with pearls, to go over it. AJ and I walked into the reception hall where the Backstreet Boys’ band was playing. When we entered the room, one of the guys announced, “Introducing for the first time, Mr. And Mrs. Alexander James McLean!!!”
Everyone cheered as AJ and I smiled and he led me to the center of the floor. Nick got up on the stage and sang “Heaven in Your Eyes” as we danced our first dance as a married couple. I was oblivious to anyone else in the room or anything else that was going on, except the man of my dreams right in front of me. I snuggled my nose against his neck as he pulled me closer to him.
“I love you, Mrs. McLean,” his deep, sensuous voice whispered into my ear.
“I love you, too,” I smiled, raising my head up to kiss him.
Nick finished his solo and took a seat by Gail.
“Now, time for tossing the bouquet and the garter!” one of the band members exclaimed.
I walked to the center of the floor as all of the single females rushed out to the floor. Of course, three of my best friends were front and center. I turned my back to them and tossed my bouquet into the air behind me. I glanced over my shoulder in time to see the bouquet soaring through the air and landing into the hands of Nick’s younger sister, BJ. She screamed with delight and ran over to kiss her boyfriend, Jared, whom we invited to the wedding.
“Hey now!! She’s too young!” Nick intervened, being the protective big brother that he is.
Someone brought a chair out to the center of the dance floor so that I could sit down. AJ bent down on one knee and took my left leg into his strong hands.
My dress had a slit up the side, so he reached up and slowly pulled the garter down the length of my leg. All of the guys in the room cheered as he did so. I blushed and laughed along with them. AJ pulled my garter back like a slingshot and shot it into the crowd. None other than Nick’s little brother, Aaron caught it!
“Yeaaahhh!!!” he screamed with joy.
“Man, this just isn’t fair! First, BJ, now Aaron. What about me???” he whined.
“It’s okay, baby,” Gail said, walking over and hugging him.
AJ and I just laughed and then went over and took our seats so that Howie and Theresa could take part in the activities we had just performed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *Gail*

“Oh yeah! Another chance to catch the garter!” Nick smiled, getting up from his seat.
I laughed watching my boyfriend get up to catch Theresa’s garter.
Howie kneeled by Theresa’s side as she pulled her dress slightly higher. Her dress was already short, cut above her knees with small slits on each side. He slid her garter down her leg and then held it up in the air for everyone to see.
“You guys ready??” he teased.
The garter went flying through the air and all of a sudden Brian’s hand pops out of the crowd and grabs at the garter.
“Man, Frick, what are you doing?? This is mine!!!” Nick yelled, as the two best friends toppled onto the ground, fighting over the garter.
“No way, Frack! I got it first!” he tugged on the garter.
“Yo Nicky. You can have my slingshot if ya want it,” Aaron suggested, presenting Kelly’s garter to him.
We all burst out in laughter at Aaron’s comment.
“You don’t know what this is?” Nick asked, releasing Theresa’s garter from his grasp and taking Kelly’s.
“Yeah, duh! It’s a slingshot. Didn’t you see Bone?” Aaron said.
“No, little man. This is Kelly’s garter. Didn’t you see AJ take it off of Kelly’s leg?” Nick explained.
“Ewww…from her leg!! Yuck!” he dropped the garter and ran off. Once again, everyone started to laugh.
“Ah…finally, I got one!” Nick said to himself, in triumph.
“Yes, you did,” I smiled, walking over to him.
“Yeah…maybe we’re next…” he grinned at me with his luscious perfectly shaped lips, leaning in for a kiss. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *Claudi*

“That was fun!” Brian said, sitting down at the table, his tie all twisted around his neck. I laughed to myself at his mangled appearance.
“What?!” he questioned.
“It’s amazing what you guys go through just to get a girl’s garter!!!” I laughed.
“Hey now…this baby is going around the rearview mirror in my car,” he laughed.
I leaned over to fix a piece of his hair that had managed to wiggle out of place in his tug-of-war with Nick over the garter.
“Okay, okay…it’s time for a toast,” one of the band members announced. We all found a seat and quietly sat down as a waiter came around to pour everyone a small glass of wine. Well, almost everyone…
“C’mon, Nick, gimme a sip…” Aaron begged.
“What are you talking about? I don’t even have any!” he exclaimed.
We all laughed a bit at the fact that Nick still wasn’t old enough to drink alcoholic beverages at his buddies’ wedding.
“What??” he asked cautiously, looking around the room.
“Nothing man. Here, I’ll give ya a sip of mine,” Brian teased.
Nick rolled his eyes and turned his eyes back on the person giving a toast. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *Vic*

I looked at my boyfriend, standing up, giving a toast to the newly wed couples.
“I want to congratulate my friends on their newfound happiness. I hope you all have very long, prospering marriages. I wish you the best of luck and happiness through the coming years,” he finished, raising his glass.
“To the brides and grooms!” an anonymous male voice called through the crowd.
We all agreed and took sips of our wine.
“Alright, guys, are you ready?” Kevin asked, glancing over at me and smiling. I smiled back and blew him a kiss, while all of the Backstreet Boys walked onto the stage.
“This song is dedicated to the lovely ladies in our lives,” Brian said into the microphone.
They all began their 5-part harmony and belted out the tunes to the old Elton John song “Something About The Way You Look Tonight”

There was a time
I was everything and nothing all in one
When you found me
I was feeling like a cloud across the sun
I need to tell you
How you light up every second of the day
But in the moonlight
You just shine like a beacon on the bay
And I can't explain
But it's something about the way you look tonight
Takes my breath away
It's that feeling I get about you, deep inside
And I can't describe
But it's something about the way you look tonight
Takes my breath away
The way you look tonight
With a smile
You pull the deepest secrets from my heart
In all honesty
I'm speechless and I don't know where to start

I was so in awe by their harmony, that I completely forgot about everything else. My only focus was that sexy, tall dark-haired guy named Kevin who was staring straight back at me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *Theresa*

After the guys’ impressive rendition of Elton John’s song, we decided it was about time for the newlyweds to leave and begin our honeymoons. Howie and I were flying to Paris for a few weeks while Kelly and AJ spent their honeymoon is sunny, warm Cancun, Mexico.
“The newlyweds are now leaving,” one of the band members announced. All four of us fled out of the reception building, while everyone was blowing bubbles for us. It was really beautiful. I couldn’t have been happier!
All of our family and friends told us goodbye and to have fun.
“Have fun you guys!” Kevin called to us.
“Yeah, and AJ, try to take it easy!” Brian joked.
“See ya! Have fun!!!” Nick yelled after us, wrapping his arm around his girlfriend.
“Bye sweetheart. You two have fun,” Denise said to AJ and Kelly, kissing them both on the cheek, tears streaming down her own.
Howie and I were leaving in a black limo and Kelly and AJ were leaving in a white one. Each one was creatively decorated by the guys’ themselves! Whipped cream spelled out the words “Just Married” with a heart and arrow below it on the back window. There were streamers wrapped all around the limo and balloons flooding the inside. Empty cans were attached to the tailpipes, so everyone could definitely see or hear us coming or going. We hopped into the limo and waved goodbye to all of our friends and family. I couldn’t wait to start the rest of my life with my new husband, from this moment on.
