PATRIOTISM  CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED

   Students at St. Thomas More Catholic School were recent recipients of certificates of recognition by the Knights of Columbus.   Awards were presented to sixth graders who wrote patriotic poems or essays about what the flag of the United States of America meant to them. 

   Fifty dollar savings bonds were awarded to the first  place winners.  Celeste Clipp (poem) and Jamie Elizabeth Harper (essay) both received bonds. 

   Other winners were Sallie Piscitello and Luke O’Rourke for essay and Elizabeth McIntyre and Masie Drogos for best poems. 

   The Knights of Columbus are a fraternal men’s group with special interest in patriotic programs and projects to help the mentally handicapped.
