After-School Snack Cake

Cake
· 1 cup sugar
· ½ cup butter, softened
· 1 egg
· 1 ½ cups apple sauce
· 1 ½ cups flour
· ½ cup cocoa
· 2 teaspoons baking soda
· 1 teaspoon vanilla
Frosting
· 1 cup confectioners sugar
· 2 tablespoons butter, softened
· 2 tablespoons cocoa
· 1 teaspoon vanilla
· milk to make smooth
Preheat oven to 375º. Cream sugar and butter for cake then add remaining
ingredients. Bake in a 9" square pan for 30-40 minutes. Cool. Mix together
frosting ingredients and frost cake when completely cool.
