Chocolate Fudge

2 squares unsweetened chocolate
3/4 cup milk
2 cups sugar
dash salt
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Place chocolate and milk in heavy saucepan. Cook, stirring, over low heat
until mixture is smooth and thickened slightly. Add sugar and salt. Stir
over medium heat until sugar is dissolved; bring mixture to a boil. Cook,
without stirring, until soft ball stage. Remove from heat. Add butter and
vanilla. Cool to lukewarm. Beat until mixture begins to lose gloss and
holds shape. Turn immediately into buttered 8x4 inch pan. Cool; cut into
squares.
