Mom's Clam Chowder

1 chopped onion
2 med diced raw potatoes
2 to 3 cans (15 oz) tomatoes (depending on your taste)
2 to 3 cans minced or chopped clams
Season to taste (go easy on the salt, clams are salty enough)


Cook onions and potatoes with tomatoes until tender. Add clams and heat through. Do not boil (clams will get tough). Season to taste.

My mom had a note at the bottom that she uses thyme, fennel and a little
basil for seasonings.
