PIRATE SOUP

Source: Bella
Serves 6

2 - 3 large onions
2 lbs prime rib
6 cups bouillon from cube
3 tbs paprika
2 cans (14 oz each) canned whole tomatoes
1 tbs cumin seeds
2 tsp marjoram
1 tsp black pepper
3 - 4 potatoes
2 - 3 green sweet peppers
2 - 3 garlic cloves

Chop the onions and sautee them in a pot with some oil or butter. Finely
shred the meat or cut in small cubes. Trim it well. Put all the meat in the
pot and pour on bouillon (or water and bouillon cubes). Stir the paprika
with some of the tomato juice from the cans and pour it in the pot. Add
cumin seeds and marjoram, black pepper and the tomatoes with remaining
liquid.

While this is boiling, you peel the potatoes, cut them in pieces and put
them in the pot. You cut the sweet peppers in large chunks. Towards the end,
you crush the garlic cloves in the soup.

Total boiling time should be about 1 hour. Flavor to taste and serve. You
can freeze it when it's cooled off. It's really good and Mom has made it for
the kids at the kindergarten many times now. She's made them love soups!
