Thanksgiving Salad

1- 6 oz. pkg. strawberry jello
1- 10 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained
4-1/2 oz. cool whip or whipped cream
2 oz. shredded coconut
1-12 oz. carton small curd cottage cheese drained
1 c chopped nuts, macadamia, walnuts, pecan ect.
1-8 oz. jar maraschino cherries
1 c fresh strawberries, optional
Follow directions for jello on the back of package and chill. Just before completely thickens, add pineapple, cool whip, shredded coconut, cottage cheese and nuts. Mix well. Chop cherries into small pieces and add, leaving four cherries whole for decoration. Pour salad into mold and let set. Unmold and decorate. For a more colorful salad, add some of the juice of the cherries.
