"Juno By Rembrandt"

Hera the Queen of the Gods, called Juno by the Romans, and worshiped from ancient times until this day!
The Romans worshiped her particularly as Juno Lucina, the Goddess of Childbirth and Light. She was honored and the motherhood of all mothers was celebrated on March 1st for the Matronalia. Her famous temple on the Esquiline was dedicated to her in 375 B.C.E. and is the site of matronalia celebrations among mothers for ages hence.

She was invoked with prayer, ritual, song and dance at the beginning of the 2000 Olympics in Sydney Australia by a group of Modern day Priestesses in traditional Greek garb.

they sang this song invoking
the Ancient Gods of the games; "We dance, dance, to thee O Zeus
God of heaven and earth.
We dance, dance, to thee O Hera
bless the games we pray.
We dance, dance, to thee O Apollo
god of the games.
