Ancestors honor and worship is central to all ancient Pagan faiths...and something modern people have gotten away from alas, even modern Pagans.
This page will not be much of a 'cybertemple' to any but my own family as these are our ancestors,
but you can use it as a template to make one of your own honoring your ancestors.
----------------------------------------------------------------
My maternal Grandparents David "Bud" Norris jr. and Sue (King) Norris
They were married nearly 40 years, had 4 children, and 11 grandchildren.(including myself who they raised.)
Bud worked at a drug store as a child after dropping out of school to support his father when he was in 3rd grade, delivering prescriptions on a bike around Canton, NC.
He later worked for Champion Paper plant. He excelled at Bowling in the 70's and later called BINGO all over western NC.
He Died in 1995.
Sue was a homemaker in the 50's and 60's, working for a dry cleaners, and then doing alterations out of her home
then her own sewing shops in Canton over the 80's, and 90's. She sewed beautifully and also enjoined BINGO and Bowling.
Sue died in 2011.
Both are buried at Ray Crawford Memorial Gardens on 19/23 between Canton and Clyde.
"Mawie" as I called my grandmother was a talented artist, who made my Prom dress, and my and my bridal parties dresses
for my 1st wedding, made me several shawls and many Crocheted decorations, including the pillow and Butterfly hair clips pictured here.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Their Mothers below: Zelvia Gibson Norris, who was said to be part Cherokee Indian,
through her father but I can't trace that line any further back than her father in the records.
(Her parents were named Ida Gibson and Charlie Gibson.) She was born in 1912 (date unknown). She was married to an older crippled man (David Sr.) at the age of 12 or 13.
I can only assume because as it was the great depression, and her family could not feed her, or perhaps in 'payment' for his work as a Water witch dowser, healer, fortune teller.
Her first child, Gladys, was born when Zelvia was 14 years old,
but died just months later, likely due the malnourishment from their severe poverty, or cribdeath.
Her 2nd child, David jr. "Bud", my grandfather was born when Zelvia was 16 years old.
She died giving birth to a still born third child (Paul) at the age of 18 on April 8th, 1930.
She was buried in an unmarked paupers grave somewhere in Western NC, possibly 'clark's chapel' in Haywood co.
She led a short, sad, difficult life, but her motherhood led to 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 30+ great great grandchildren from her line.
--------------
And My Grandmother Sue's mother was MaeBelle McMahon King.
(She Was born to Mary McMahon, her father was unknown.)She married Troy King (Son of Leona King, father unknown)
Both Sides of their family were related to the McMahons and Kings in Sandy Mush, NC.
They had 12 children, who all lived to adulthood, in spite of the great depression, and their very modest farm income.
Troy Spent time in jail for moonshining, during which time MaeBelle took care of the 12 children herself
with some help send to her from the older son who had gone off to WWII.
MaeBelle Died in 1971, and is buried at Pisgah View Memorial gardens on 12/23 between Canton and Asheville..

She came to America from Amsterdam at the age of 18 with a sick husband, upon being shipwrecked,
the rest of the crew fled on to the colony leaving her to tend to her sick husband on the beach.
They were attacked, and her husband died, but she survived the horrific Indian attack,
hiding for days scalped, a shoulder hacked up and her bowels coming out of a slit open stomach which she held in with her uninjured arm, in a hollow log,
to finally be rescued by an Indian Chief who carried her to his village to nurse her back to health, She then returned to the colony and went on to live to be 110!
She was called; "Mother of Middletown" and the "First Lady of Monmouth County."
She was featured in Ripley's Believe it or not in the newspaper, and has a commemorative coin made showing her being rescued

Also finding some Royal and Noble bloodlines....way back in my family tree in my genealogy research.

(Both Hannah and Eleazer were 5th greatgrandparents of my greatgreat grandfather David Burgin Norris.
Peter was a famous important Colonist n Mass...and She (Jane) was somehow a descendant of William I King of Scotland.
